Garcia vs Thurman needs MORE!
What a time in boxing when a FIVE STAR, BLUE CHIP MATCH FOR THE BEST P4P FIGHTER IN THE WORLD cannot get the kind of PPV support and Marketing push it deserves.
This fight may be too early to happen. This fight does NOT have the marketing, public relations and SELL it needs to make it profitable.
It is just NOT READY! It's not! People who have been around promotions for a while and understand ticket sales know that this fight is NOT ready yet.
A fight we have to see, and we should be treated to, yes... But let us be honest: It is not ripe yet!
I wish someone has an injury and pulls out and postpones until we can have some real MONEY MAKING BUILD UP to this!
jmo....

You're an interesting sort of troll, aren't you?
Re: Garcia vs Thurman needs MORE!
I think the timing of this fight is perfect. They are both at or near their peak. It's also on CBS which should hopefully prove to be a better platform than PPV.

The promotions for this is off. It's a WEAK build up. WEAK!

Shut up!
It does not need to be PPV to be classed as a big fight. 2 young undefeated fighters facing one another on mainstream TV? That is as big as you can get.
Re: Garcia vs Thurman needs MORE!
P4P no.1 match? Arguably it's not even the best welterweight fight made this year let alone a fight to determine the P4P no.1 (which doesn't even make sense).
Why do weirdo boxing fans give a shit about what the fighters make let alone the fucking promotion? What's even more ridiculous is these type of fighters are regularly getting high six and seven figure purses. They are not paupers. They are not slaves. They are not forced to fight, they choose to. Simple as that.

I think what ykda... etc. is trying to say is:
In the culinary lingo started by Golden Boy..... is hasn't had time to marinate yet.
Hell... it's not even ripe.
It's still green.
Let us remember the fight we wanted between Floyd-Pac many years ago.
That one when we finally saw it... it was rotten!
It had gone beyond marinating and ripening.
So fights have to happen at the right time, is what he's trying to say.
In all seriousness, though. I think it's a good time for the fight.
It's a good fight, and we need good fights.
Whether or not the promoters have done a good job promoting it is really their problem.
And IMO... they've done a shitty job.

Fenny (I hope you don't mine me calling you Fenny) you don't seem to post as much these days and when you do it seems as though you have not so much as fallen out of love with the sport but are at least on the verge of falling out of love with the fans.
Am I right in saying that or am I way off the mark?
Re: Garcia vs Thurman needs MORE!
I agree with what @Fenster is saying. This is a very good fight that can lead to even bigger fights.

I don't know what the build up has been like elsewhere but in the UK it's been non existent which is a shame, it's a massive fight in a good weight class, as you say it should open all the doors.

A cynical Fenster ? ;D

You can call me Fanny if you like, @Batman
I'm not falling out of love with anyone, just pointing out what I think is either stupid or ridiculous or wrong or nuts and can't stand the moaning and groaning. That's all.

Fenster is consistant. Fact.
Re: Garcia vs Thurman needs MORE!
This is a much better fight than that stupid Haye/Bellew one. If it's on I will try to watch this one. It is a good fight because it is decent matchmaking. You cannot say for sure who will win and that's what it should be all about. All this "I will watch it anyway 'coz I don't like him and it will be funny to se his head bashed in even though I know it's a pisstake" is why boxing ends up with so many appalling matchups. Those kinds of people might be better chopping the heads off of hamsters. Personally I don't see the appeal.
