Where does Canelo go from here?
154 is a loaded division: James Kirkland, Alfredo Angulo, Erislandy Lara, Carlos Molina, Paul Williams, Vanes Martirosyan, Sergiy Dzinziruk, K9 Bundrage, Wolak/Rodriguez winner, Cotto/Margarito winner. I believe there may be more to gain fighting those guys than jumping up in weight to take on a huge middleweight in Chavez Jr. Canelo calls out Mayweather, but that's a money play. He isn't experienced enough yet for Mayweather. It would be a blow out.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
I don't see him staying around 154 for much longer he's quite thick bodied plus he's only 21 so he will out grown the division soon. But for now a fight with someone with more heart than Cintron will be good.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
For those saying they don't want to see him in with Floyd *yet*, keep this in mind: if he doesn't fight Mayweather next year he will probably never get to. He won't be able to make 154lbs forever. Canelo is the third most relevant fight out there for Floyd, so if the Pacquiao or Martinez fights can't be made, I'd like to see Mayweather/Alvarez in May.
Other than that, I'd love to see Canelo in with Kirkland or Cotto.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
Have him fight Chavez Jr. Oh wait........ Papa Chavez would probably veto that one.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
To be clear, Alvarez will be at junior middleweight for a long time to come. He has fought comfortably at 150 for a while let alone 154.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
I think possibly a Kirkland fight.

I agree, Mayweather would school Alvarez... badly.. Personally, i'd like to see Alvarez attempt to dominate and/or clean up the Jr. Middleweight Division, before he even thinks about a fight with Mayweather.

Martinez won't have to drop to 150lbs.
That would be a great card. Good luck getting Top Rank and Golden boy together for that, and throw in lou dibella in the mix, not gonna happen. These guys dont want to split money with one other promoter let alone 2 others.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
I think he should fight Kirkland next.
Re: Where does Canelo go from here?
