I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and let you bash the fight he had with that fat black guy he fought whose name escapes me at the moment lol
Honestly, elephant seal should be in better shape for his shot at Wilder.
Curtis Harper?! They took turns rattling the blubber on one another.

So Arreola gets his head wobbled by Stiverne twice and still gets to fight Wilder while Fury is left scratching his head.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
Fury had the Klitschko rematch first I think no matter what, but yeah. Also I think he still has the WBA title? Louis Ortiz is the interm champ for that and would actually fight him or anyone I suspect, that's a better one to hope for. Gave Wilder credit for taking the Povetkin fight in Russia, but he sort of had to. I don't see him going to the UK to unify, which he would also probably have to do.

If Wilder was going to fight Povetkin in Russia I am sure he would be prepared to come to UK to face Fury or AJ.

Good point. I was ready to throw Wilder under the bus for even entertaining the idea of fighting Arreola.
Arreola just went life and death with harpoon harper. who per fight record previous loss was to a 4-0 opponent.

But did he ever really intend to fight Povetkin, or was he looking for a way out?
And he certainly was very reluctant to go ("it's too cold").
Difficult to imagine Wilder, who has been VERY protected, going to the UK to fight a heavyweight close to his own size - especially someone with Fury's skills or Joshua's power.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
Wilder was already in Russia when Povetkin failed the VADA test, pretty hard to play that card. He lost the purse bid in that fight and had to go to keep his title was the thing, I agree it's hard to see him going to the UK to unify when he won't have to.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
Arreola has a decent chance.
That being said, if Wilder ever gets a good trainer who rids him of his amateurish, wild shot bullshit.... he'll immediately become the dominant HW of this era today.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
Which Arreola will show up for this fight? The one who doesn't want to fight and goes into a shell. Or the one who can bring the fire. I've seen this a few times. Most of the time the other guy shows up because he just doesn't give a shit. Another Buster Douglas.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
Undercard may blow doors off main event. Sammy Vasquez jr now faces Felix Diaz in another top solid now or never welter scrap. Vasquez looks like the goods to me.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
That's a nice fight. I like Vasquez too, and Diaz proved a good and tough fighter against Peterson, he could have won that.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
That was a nip and tuck fight indeed. This went from PBC robbing the graveyard with Collazo :-X as opponent for Vasquez to his toughest fight to date and one where Diaz has to have the strength advantage. Props to both for squaring off early career!
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Chris Arreola
It's not that bad a matchup considering they made it so quick after Povetkin was pulled. I think Arreola is made for the atomic windmill but if he gets past his range he could certainly chin him. Can't see it lasting long either way.
For the UK mob - It's on Sky Sports 3
