There's a really good read about Pavlik on another site & the link is below...but part of the article touches on something that I've been talking about for the last year & a half...so I wanna discuss it.

Taylor never assumed the role of poster boy for boxing that was envisioned for him when he dethroned Bernard Hopkins. Maybe Pavlik will. But Jermain shouldn’t be written off too quickly. His best days as a fighter aren’t necessarily behind him. In round two, he was one punch away from beating Pavlik. All three judges had him ahead at the time of the stoppage. And the more Bernard Hopkins wins, the better Taylor’s two victories over him look.
Losing is part of boxing. Losing respect is something else. It would be a terrible injustice if Jermain were to lose the respect that he earned in the past with his hard work, courage, and blood.
A contract is already in place for Pavlik-Taylor II to be fought at 166 pounds with a fifty-fifty financial split between the camps. It’s possible that the fighters will opt for interim bouts first, but either one of them can force an immediate rematch. If and when that fight occurs, the outcome is not a foregone conclusion. However, for Jermain to win, he’ll have to get his house in order.
One doesn’t have to debate the issue of whether Emanuel Steward is a better trainer than Pat Burns. It’s enough to say that Burns was a better trainer for Taylor.
Burns was ousted because Jermain felt more of a personal obligation to Ozell Nelson than he did to Pat. But he had confidence in Burns as a trainer and relied on him emotionally as a fighter. In the ring, neither Steward or Nelson has been able to fill that void. The chemistry between Jermain and Emanuel simply isn’t there, and that might have been the determining factor on September 29th. It led to a situation where, deep down, one fighter believed in himself and the other didn’t.
My thoughts are that Taylor desperately needs Burns back. I've been crying since he left & I will whether Taylor wins a rematch or not.
There is no mental connection between Manny & Taylor. Jermain often looks lost in the dark when he can't find an answer.
Burns ALWAYS fixed Taylor's fudges. Back track & see.

I think it would be good idea to bring Burns back JT and Manny don't blend well he doesn't listen to a word Manny says so yes i do think bringing Burns back would be good idea but i don't think it will change outcome of Pavlik vs Taylor 2.
But i also think Taylor has got some problems that a trainer can't fix like nervous energy if you see in Hopkins fights they wern't fought at a high pace at all yet Taylor gased out he needs to learn to control himself and no trainer can fix that only Taylor himself can do that.

Burns would be a welcome addition of stability to Taylor's game. When he drug Taylor out of the trenches in the first Hopkins fight & calmed him he helped him handle the mugging. That's saying something...really. I'm big on Hopkins & have seen every single fight & once he starts that shit...it's hard to sort out. Burns leveled him just fine.
I think that the outcome of Taylor Pavlik II might surprise all.

:coolclick: back Wacko i agree with your points but like i said in previsious post Taylor needs to learn how to control himself with the nervous energy i think Taylor is very talented fighter he has lazer jab and has all the tools to be great fighter i've seen some of his early fights he is very impressive im not going to write him off because he fought very well against Pavlik and has nothing to be ashamed of he done even better than i expected i think bringing Burns back is definetly a step in the right direction maybe i have been bit hard on him against Wright, Hopkins, Ouma, Spinks, but it was frustrating because i wern't seeing the Taylor of old he had stopped using the jab and it was frustrating to watch Wacko but all i can say if Burns is back with Taylor then bring on Pavlik vs Taylor 2.

Anytime you watched Burns & Taylor together when Taylor got into trouble & pulled that "crab in a corner" shit, Burns would basically "drill sergeant" the hell outta Taylor & out of the corner he would come blazing & it always kept him straight & true.
Manny just gives him that "everything is boxing beautiful" bullshit & that don't work for Taylor.
Bring back Burns or just close up shop. Manny aint gonna fix Taylor.
Floyd always says "If it makes dollars it makes sense" well...Manny makes dollars all the way around...but he sho' as shit don't make no sense.
Burns makes all the sense in the world.
Taylor needs to drop Manny, get burns, fight a tuner, & then ask for a rematch in a year.

I think only JT can fix himself; at least as far as if he rematches with Pavlik. He does need to learn to control his nervous energy, and only he or a shrink will probably be able to fix that for him. A rematch with Pavlik will be the biggest fight of his career, because he has to get back in the ring with the guy who not only took his belt, but k.o.'d him doing it. That is going to be a big factor in JT's mental conditioning, and everyone knows how big mental toughness and stability is for a fighter. Whether JT can control himself and just sit and outbox Kelly or whether he loses control and just comes out trying for another 2nd k.o. of Kelly we won't know till the fight. I personally think JT will be very apprehensive getting back in the ring with the one guy who crumpled him in the corner, and will lose focus very quickly in a rematch. Again, only JT knows. I don't think trainers are going to be a huge deciding factor, as far as another Pavlik fight goes. Hope we can see though :)
And on another note; who are the SC bitches who don't even tell you why you're being SC'd ??? I have received 3 since last night and no explanation for them. WTF???

You need another option there wack, "taylor was always broke, the second rate fighters made him look good"
And before anyone jumps the gun, i'm not calling hopkins second rate, but when he fought hopkins, hopkins was on the backfoot - taylor had to come forward, hopkins would do nothing in the the first 4 rounds of both fights, and then would only really fight the last 45-60 seconds...
Taylor is no different now than what he was in the hopkins fights, the difference is, people would credit his lack laster performance as too "no one looks good against hopkins"
I mean come on, joppy was no good in his prime, got a beat down by tito a former welter, and hopkins - taylor couldn't even put him away...
People have given taylor way to much credit for the wins over hopkins, hopkins was fighting back then without any real purpose or meaning, he was fighting for money, and win or lose he was getting paid the same... hopkins in his prime would of fucking destroyed taylor for every second of every round.
The boy has talent, that i will not denie, he has bags off it, quick hands, good jab - but its all wasted when you have no heart, no drive or no real purpose in that ring.
Maybe just MAYBE taylor will come back better now hes been knocked out - i was impressed with him in the first two rounds, he was showing pavlik up to being the second class fighter he really is. But after he smacked kelly about the ring he did tire, but also he took his foot of the peddle because he thought that it was going to be an easy night.
