Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
Isn't it great, we get Taylor/Baranchyk next, along with Prograis/Relikh, then the winners will square off.
Baranchyk is always fun but Taylor is too polished for him.
Taylor/Prograis is a dream fight that we will get with both guys at their best. All going to plan.

It’s true. Having Prograis and Taylor fight (obviously it’s not a foregone conclusion) at this point in their respective careers is pretty rare. There will be no marinating. I’m super excited for the rest of both of the tournaments.
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
I think Taylor-prograis is fairly close to a sure thing, just can’t see either losing their next fights. Not really sure what Martin made the trip for. maybe he would have been stopped earlier if he engaged, but it didn’t seem like he had any intention of winning.
Happy for Donaire as he’s such a nice guy, obviously that’s no way anyone wants to see a fight end though. I do think the commentary wasn’t giving him credit for looking good and being in the fight, was totally unfamiliar with Barnett beforehand I’ll admit, but it looked as though Donaire was closing the gap a little bit, he obviously still has pop and looked a far cry from most any fighter we’ve seen move back down in weight at the tail end of career. He did better in the 3rd and 4th than he had the first two, i was quite interested to see if he could keep coming on before the freak ending.
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
Big upset, but good on Donaire, he gambled and it paid off. Unfortunate ending for Burnett but he'll be back.
I actually give Donaire more of a chance at beating Tete, than I did of him upsetting Burnett.
He did look surprisingly decent at the weight after so long away.
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
Just read the daily mail's take on the Donaire v Burnett fight
Well according to them Burnett looked out of his depth
Burnett's only hope was that Donaire tired in the later rounds
First round was full of left's and rights to Burnett's jaw in a round that Donaire won easy
Second round was even
Burnett lost the third round after taking multiple poundings in the corner
Not quite the fight that I was watching
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
Donaire is probably kicking himself for wasting years in the wrong division, even as an old dinosaur he was holding his own, regardless of what would have happened. Can't wait to see the prices for the Tete fight.
Burnett was bloody unlucky though, trying to walk on a busted hip is like not having a foot whilst getting blasted with lightening down the leg.
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
Burnett so unlucky on what could have been milestone big fight, injury remembered. Taylor is the deal for real business means big drama.
Re: Ryan Burnett vs. Nonito Donaire
So the WBSS semifinals are set with Tete facing Donaire and Rodriguez facing Inoue. Too bad the draw came out that way, as I think neither Tete nor Donaire can hang in there with Rodriguez. Inoue is a tough mountain to climb.
Inoue-Rodriguez would've been a fitting final.

Agreed. I’m interested in the Donaire-Tete match, but I’m not waiting in anticipation or anything. I’m actually pulling for a Donaire win. Would be cool to see him get to the finals somehow.
