Also there is zero need for all the tonics and meds etc. Just make tons of grilled big game and beef with thyme and ginseng etc. I'm a rolling food truck ffs.
I never bothered with the tonics or meds either, once you get the legendary satchel or whatever it's called just head down near saint Denis and blast fuck out of some alligators, that's the easiest way to get good meat, with that satchel you can hold 99 of each item so it's pretty hard to run out of stuff once you are well stocked up.

Have to try that. Always have bad luck in the swamps with toothless hillbillies trying to Ned Betty me or gators spooking the horses. I have yet to craft a satchel and just realized you have to give the pelts to Pearson in camp rather than just having them on your person :p. Almost to the point of not labeling this one a 'game' but calling it a educational tool ;D. Runs the gambit of accurate history to ethology to botany to a literal how to when it comes to playing poker and dominoes etc.
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
As technically impressive as the game is I do not think I will replay it nor try for 100% completion. My target is usually 95% then any collecting stuff gets dumped as it is filler. Spiderman 100% as it was pure fun. RDR2 was not. Thus 95%.
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
How do you get legendary satchel ??
Also what is the point of finding open tonics and bourbon etc ? You drink them and it does nothing it seeems.
Not played for a few days but will get back on it soon.

You have to get the dude back at camp to craft it for you by getting loads of perfect pelts, took about 8 hours in total to do it.
I think the bourbon increases your dead eye slightly but damages health a wee bit, or something like that
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
Yes it does but when you find an open bottle of something you still take it but when drink it it does nothing.
So what’s the point
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
Just seen you have to craft every other satchel to do the legendary one and need a shit load of perfect pelts.
I’ve not collected one yet as they are too much effort.
In short I won’t be getting one

There's a certain point after ch.5 when maintaining 'health' becomes more difficult and found only thing that aids deadeye is booze, cigars and a satchel full of grilled Thyme meats. Or sleeping.
weeks in and just had first 'duel challenge' in the street. These were definitely more prevalent in first game and forgot how to do them ;D.
Anyone else find the Viking burial chamber and random stones?
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
Yeah I've had about 3duels in the game so far and there's that long between them you forget how to do it.
I'm not looking forward to chapter 5 by the sounds of it...
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
I’ve reached Chapter two ;D
I find myself playing along, doing as I’m told by the prompts on screen, all the while forgetting basic functions.
Ive arrived at camp and I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to be doing. I must have missed a prompt.
I had a look around, stumbled on a settlement and accidentally shot a guy, I then had to shoot the two guys trying to run away. I started to make my way back to camp, wandered into a red zone and got gunned down. Will have another look later.

Just run with it as it's wide open. Very easy to get distracted and there is no A,B,C order.
yeh took awhile to get the controls down and easy to pull a pistol or start a fight when all you're trying to do is greet someone ;D. People react to everything you do and show.
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
Yes stick with it. Somewhere during chapter 2 things just seem to click and it all makes sense.
If you look back on this thread I was cursing like fuck at the start as nothing seemed to make sense.
Bit overwhelmed with the vastness of the fucking thing.
Which I am now impressed by!
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
3 times this morning I was trying to go into buildings in St Denis and I accidentally grabbed some guy or woman by the door and started choking her ffs then all hell breaks lose wasting more time.
Grrrrrrrrrrr
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
How the fook did this slip to 2nd page ;D. Took a week off and back on. Without *spoiling too much...man this got a little bit depressing didn't it? Surprised the epilogue is that long and have just built the ranch. It all lines up with 1st now.
Re: Red Dead Redemption - anyone playing ?
just been chatting with a guy at work who was on about the epilogue and how it all makes sense now.
I've just had a cracking shootout at the mansion so think I'm near the end of 4
Still keep getting sidetracked by side missions
