If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Ok maybe you want to learn something from someone or maybe you think you got something you can impart to a fighter ;works both ways .
Who's yours?
Who could you help the fastest for the trainers and studiers here.
Or who would you climb into the ring with?
If you're a fighter who would you get into the ring with so that some of their magic rubs off.
Me Id like to talk with and spar (lightly)with Floyd and ask him what he thinks about in certain situations also see his reactions to some alternate possibilities.
I would love to get with Sam Soliman and get him flexible and balanced so to have control over others moves and balance while getting more power onto the end of his weird unco moves, that half work.
Re: If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Hmmmmmmm
Ive sent a fighter to Fraziers, because even though I know the Philly crab, theyre masters at it.
Maybe Pac,I dont get many speed demons in here, so it would probably help me brushing up my training of faster fighters
First thing I read this morning, let me think about it some more
Re: If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Would have loved to have been able to train in the same gym as the like of Duran, Hagler, Whittaker etc. At the moment I'd love to train in the saame gym as JMM.

I wanna train w/Donny. :p
(I do tho...)
It sux so bad losing good sparring partners. Aside from famous people and all from boxing, and its history, am at a place where right now I don't have a lot standing in front of me when I climb through the ropes, and it is frustrating. A person needs challenges to learn, and right now in sparring I don't have that.
Ended up sparring my coach last week, as he saw I needed something...as I was in there with all new people, and getting frustrated. He's like 210lbs and in shape, great shape for his 43 years, and thought he even broke my nose for a min. hahah...but I could let go on him, and he went hard on me. But it was a band aid spar...won't be a reg. workout deal.
So I spose, I would take anyone with more experience and better then I currently am...to learn from. Hopefully in the right weight range also.

If its any consolation, the best way to learn is to fight someone you cant beat. You find your way around your own skin that way

Well it is not any consolation, because that was exactly my point.
I don't mind training with new people, and being that marker for them. Paying it forward, if you will. But as of right now, have just lost my reg. sparring partner, and I have no one to challenge me in our gym..something that is obviously crucial.
They also won't just pop out of thin air, as we are isolated where we live. So my only hope really, is that someone shows up. The other possibility is that I can arrange sparring with a few guys from the other boxing club in our city, but as of now we are caught in a rivalry that isn't doing either of us any good and preventing it.

We're rural here too, thats why I have working arrangements with other gyms.
Ask your trainer if he'd be open to that
Re: If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Floyd Mayweather or Sugar Ray Leonard...
Re: If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Worked with some great Fighters, funny enougth didnt enjoy it as much as Fighters that people told me I was wasting my time with. You are learning more about yourself and coaching, plus its more enjoyable to me. Remember one kid when I got hold of Him and saying He would win a British title, people laugthing and telling me Id lost it. When He won the World Title I had a Big smile on my Face ;D. Another I was told would never make a Fighter while He had a hole in his arse, now people think He is a natural ;D, He is like a son to me, been there done it got the Tee Shirt with Him wanker ;D

Sugar Ray Leonard or Mike Tyson.
Re: If you could train with one fighter, who would it be?
Ali would be the best person in the gym with. He'll school you and make you laugh.
Tyson would be interesting too, I can't help but wonder if tyson and james toney ever was in the wild card gym at the same time. That would be very interesting to see. But I think Tyson would scare the shit out of me, he'll probably make me his water boy and if i mess up he'll probably threaten to eat my asshole alive :-X

"Prime" RTyson in the gym was a business man.
No publicity, no needless emotion, all business.
