Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I've put my neck on the line and said Jones will win by late TKO between 7th and 11th round.I 100% believe he will win if no stoppage he will win on points Jones isn't taking this fight for money alone he wants to end his career on top and i think he turns back the clock and whoops Calzaghe.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe will ruin Roy i mean ruin.

I must of said that 20x about Tyson it never happened.

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I can't see your messege but I will always root for Calzlappy unless he fights Pavlik of course ;D
Old Joe was badder than Boring Old B-Hop and Old Joe will be badder than boring Old RJ JR.
I hope it is a better fight than Joe's last fight ;D
Joe Calzlappy by TKO in the 10th.
:lickish:

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe wins by UD,
Jones will cause Calzaghe problems early with his speed and accuracy but Jones won't be able to handle the workrate of Calzaghe.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Terrible way to end a career but Jones would probably cause more problems than Pavlik who Joe would drive to school and pass all his exams.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I think RJJ is gonna pull this one out, even with how he fights now, he will be able to time Joe for 10 of the 12 rounds.
RJJ wide UD.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe will win this with plenty to spare. I can see Jones Jr becoming overwhelmed on his 39 year old legs.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Make sure you vote guys please;D

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I've gone for my man JC, but I'm not completely sold yet. He hasn't been to the gym since the last fight and it looks like it's been moved forward a couple months since the HBO opening after Floyd's retirement.
Calzaghe will need to be in better shape than against Hop and come in as light as possible, and since it's his last fight he might as well go all out on the power punches in training and just suffer the hands one last time. I can certainly see the possibility of Jones making it hairy for him.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
We should have a poll to guess how many fucking Jones-Joe-who-will-win-? polls tyson bruno will post between now and the fight, just so he can have another pop at Joe.
Tysonbruno, why not keep all the polls in the same thread? Just keep them all together in one thread instead of littering the board with your endless shyte. You don't like Joe, we already know.

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I see this fight been like a high class sparring session,i carnt see either fighter going all out just in case they get countered with a big shot.Calzaghe isnt a big puncher know a days but i think he can hurt and stop Jones if he catches him with clean shots,as Jones punch restistance isnt as good as it was. I see Jones sitting on the ropes alot of the fight and Joe will out work him and take a UD.

It'll be like one of those old Chinese riddles/proverbs finally being answered, What happens when the china hands meets the china chin?

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Flippin heck, I must admit I'm quite surprised at the amount of votes RJJ is getting!
As far as I can see, RJJ is a shadow of his former self, and is years away from the last real masterclass he dished out. Calzaghe puts RJJ on the ropes and works on him smothering him with punches, until the ref eventually stops it despite big protests from RJJ, who claims his laying on the ropes was really just rolling the punches.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe UD, no doubt about it

Same old thing with Joe every fight he has there is always alot of doubters.

I voted for Jones just because hes my fav and i cant vote against him. In reality im not that confident. Hopefully its a good fight.

That's not true at all there were doubters when he fought Lacy, Kess and Hopkins end of, noone gave Bika, Manfredo, Ashira, Veit or an old shop worn Reid a chance against JC.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe.
If RJJ was in his prime then of course he would dispose of Joe, but now, I just cant see it. Which is good cause I want JC to win anyway;D
BTW, have you see his bird? She is pretty tidy:lickish:

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe is not getting stopped by an ancient roy, no way in hell. Roy doesn't fight offensive enough anymore to knock out a former welterweight, and yet somehow he's going to ko joe. Put me down for joe winning a clear cut ud.

When is the last Calzaghe has ruined anyone. If he is so great has he ever knocked a guy down three times in a round and was never hit once. Probablly the greatest round ever.

Who said "Calzaghe was so great" and Calzaghe ruined Lacy of that there is no-doubt.
This Roy Jones has no chance against a guy of this calibre, style wise it is a nightmare for Jones.
The two things you cannot do against Joe is stay on the ropes or gas and this shell will do both.
I happen to think this shadow formely known as Roy Jones would get smoked by Kessler, Taylor, pavlik, johnson, Hopkins, tarver i could go on he is totally gone he got no legs.
Who was Roy fighting in that video? one of the cans he fought post Toney?
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Jones Jr is one of my favorites and i think he will knock Calzaghe down early in the fight with a straight right hand lead as he leaps in, but just like Hopkins he hasn't got the stamina anymore, plus he lays on the ropes too much which isn't a good thing against a combination puncher. I'll go with Jones just because he is my favorite fighter but Calzaghe is for certain the favorite.

Whoa! That vid is pretty impressive
I think Jones the is greatest boxer Ive ever seen .

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Im voting for Roy. i still think that he has just enough to pull the victory. even a old Roy has some of that Great Roy inside him. He just need to find it and i think this is where he'll find it. Jones by desicion. hopefully by KO.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Even though as I say Jones is the greatest fighter Ive ever witnessed, Im gonna be realistic and vote for Calzaghe .
Jones is no longer at his best and since his relfexes slowed he has relied alot on laying on the roopes with his hands high and stiff . He may cause Joe problems early and it will be abit like the Hopkins fight in the respect that Joe has to comeback but I think his workrate and volumes in the later rounds are too much for Jones to match and Joe takes it on points .
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Jones still has the speed but not the stamina check out when he fought Hanshaw he had him out on his feet and floored him, but didn't even throw 4 punches after that knockdown for the entire round. Jones can only fight for 1 minute of a round i hope its enough though and Jones finishes his career on a high because he deserves it.

Good that your supporting your man i just think people totally under-rate how good Calzaghe is a what he has accomplished in his career.
I always read that if this guy does this he beats Calzaghe for sure. People used to say hes beat no-one so he beats them then its Calzaghe hasnt beat anyone P4P now its Calzaghe hasnt beat anyone P4P prime.
Getting silly got to defend him.

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
We can't really apply the trinidad fight as to were Jones is at the moment...If you watch the fight it's just a joke. Jones knows Tito can't hurt him so let's him hit him a few a times before unloading the occasional right hand.....Good business i suppose.
Regarding Jones fighting Joe...He obviously feels he can expose Calzaghes weaknesses i guess much the same way B-Hop tried to do....If B-Hop had tried anything other than move...right hand...move...right hand...move hold...head right hand.....we would have seen a much better fight in favour of Joe in my opinion.
Now if Jones goes in with the same idea I can see the same sort of fight a messy ud or sd for Joe but none the less deserved.
And as a result Joe will lose stature.people will say jones was a shot, shell of his former self and Joe should have done better...when in reality Jones will probably spoil hoping to pull out a decision.
I got Joe to win but i expect another messy fight.

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Lts be honest this is more an exhibition than a seriouse fight like duran leonard 3 it sounds good but in reality its not. Jones i think loves being in the big fights but i dont think he is confident of winning them now. Joe is looking for the most marketable fights with little risk thus y he has owned the super middle division now its the end of his career he wants to go out with shiny glittery boxing ppv events. And lets be fare to joe he deserves it.

So you are probably dumb enought to think Calfsge could beat Jones Jr prime versus prime. Jones has dropped 3 of his last 6. No wonder he want Roy Jones instead of Pavlik. Calzaghe is clearly ducking Pavlik and here is proof. Listen to around 6:30.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWDtzdAYTOA
He fired Frank Warren because he was trying to make a blueprint with Arum for Pavlik - Calzaghe. Enzo saw what he thought was a great boxer get mauled in the ring and now he is trying to protect his cushioned record.

Why would he duck Kelly Pavlik do you see something the rest of us dont Mikkel Kessler is a much better/tougher fight than old one two.
And who Jones knockdown Trinidad and Hanshaw, WOW.
Jones is shot and Calzaghe would beat Pavlik pretty soundly.

No he wouldn't. Didnt Kessler lose to JoeC? So how would he be a better fight than a still later primed Calzaghe.

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Calzaghe all day everyday. Not sure why so many expect Jones to "turn back the clock." I have almost zero doubt about the outcome of this fight, and that's saying something cause I can usually make some kind of case for either guy in a "big" fight. Not here.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
I think it may be closer than people think, but JC will win.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Lets be honest how many times have you thought a once great fighter could come back one more time?
Tyson, Benn and Chavez i always thought would come back after a couple of bad beatings, esp Mike it really doesnt happen.
-
Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
We have just seen Hopkins turn the clock back against Pavlik can Jones do the same and do a number on Calzaghe lets get our votes in for who we think will win.

Maybe. :-\

Re: Jones Vs Calzaghe Come On Guys Put Your Necks On The Line
Now that Hopkins has franked the Calzaghe form I don't think Roy has much chance at all.
A problem for Calzaghe might be - the fat cats will now want Hopkins-Jones 2.. if Calzaghe goes too easy on Roy he could get shafted on the cards
