Brock and Jones and other stuff
So Brock's out of his fight with JDS, his stomach problems are back. Carwin's replacing him and the winner still gets Cain for the belt. I like this fight better. JDS is a better boxer, but Carwin has scary power, plus he's a great wrestler. I still think JDS loses, but this should be a more entertaining fight.
Jon Jones is now saying he doesn't need surgery on his hand, and he'll be fighting before the end of the year… just not against Rashad. I don't understand how a champion can back out of a fight with an injury, then after his opponent has a new fight scheduled, decide he can fight, just not against the number one contender. If I was running the UFC, I'd demand Jones fight Rashad. If he refused, I'd strip his belt and make Rashad vs Davis fir the vacant title. If he accepts, I'd offer Davis the top fighter of his choosing.
Also, Edgar vs Maynard III is off, both are injured. GSP's eye is back to %100. UFC now offers insurance for fighters between fights. Mitrione and Tito almost got into it at the annual fighter's summit. GSP broke up a scuffle between Rashad and Jones at a night club.
Busy week for MMA without fights!
Re: Brock and Jones and other stuff
The Jones deal is very peculiar to me also
Re: Brock and Jones and other stuff
One thing that I hope: That Carwin worked on his cardio. He has monster power, good wrestling but we've seen after he fought Brock that his conditionning wasn't ready yet to last full 5 rounds of activity. If his cardio ain,t better, he has the power punch chance but that is about it.
Re: Brock and Jones and other stuff
Carwin's cardio is fine, its the "roids that screw up his fighting...
Re: Brock and Jones and other stuff
His condition wasn't roid related it was from eating massive amounts of protein with little intake of other food groups.
