Watched it live.
VERY disapointing.
Fedor fell right into Werdum's trap, thought he hurt him and rushed him and fell right into a perfect triangle choke.
Fedor will most likely avenge the loss.
But the undefeated streak and the mystique is gone.
All cus of a simple submission that Fedor should have knew better to get into by a low level top 10 heavyweight.
Fuckin SUCKS.

he screwed up pretty bad dangling his limbs and head like that into an elite BJJ's specialists guard. Tried to seal the deal too quickly after the knock down and forgot what he as up against. There's a reason so few are undefeated in the sport. Anyone can be submitted with the slightest mental lapse.
Anyone else I would have expected to fall for the trap, fedor I thought would be much more patient, because he usually is. All he had to do was let werdum stand up.... Oh well I'm pretty sure if they rematch fedor beats him over a few rounds because he's going to be much more cautious and patient.

Yeah that was crazy....Fedor knew it was a stupid mistake...You could tell after the fight he was more disappointed with the way it happened rather then the loss....Werdum was very very gracious in winning giving Fedor the utmost respect...He knew Fedor made a stupid mistake......

Agreed with everyone pretty much, Fedor messed up and jumped the gun. Paid the price for trying to be spectacular! Still reckon he'll handle Werdum pretty easily in a rematch though.
And speaking of spectacular, did anyone see the last spinning kick that Cung Le delivered to Scott Smith before the TKO? Man, I felt sick in my stomach after that... what a brutal shot. An often overused term is 'Like getting kicked by a mule,' but in this case I think that really is what it must have felt like! Smith's face was like ---> :-X
the cung le spinning kick was sick! nobody will be able to stand back up from that hit.
the female fighter also got kneed in the gut by the shemale champ.
and i thought fedor did not rocked werdum at all, in the replay you can see that werdum was outbalanced not cause of a punch.
Yeah it was a harsh harsh was for Smith to find out the first time really was luck being on his side and he may have a bit too much confidence in his punching power....Even Shamrock during the announcing started to relive their fight...Especially when Cung landed the kick to the head that Smith blocked but got nr5attled from...Frank was like.."Thats the same kick that broke my arm!!"......Le really is a master with his feet...Quote:

Fedor was more cautious when he fought Nog. He didnt go for the kill as soon as he dropped him cuz he was aware of his ground skills.
Against Werdum, I duno if he believed his own hype but he seemed to lack any respect for Werdums skills and dived on him. Fedor also looked abit fleshy. I know it had no impact on the fight itself as it only went 65 seconds but what it does tell us is that Fedor did not take this fight seriously or train as hard as he could have. He normally comes in fleshy anyway but this time he looked fat.
If he trains properly and sticks to a gameplan I think he beats Werdum in a rematch but this loss was damaging to his legacy. Points loss is 1 thing but he got " Amir Khand"
Fedor rocked him, Werdum won out of desperation. Not a win to be proud of in my book. Fedor lost but was not beaten.
I agree it was more Fedor losing than Werdum winnning but I do think that beating Fedor within seconds is a win he can be proud of.Quote:
