This is better than Collazo, but not by much. Khan running from Brook again as usual.
Khan going to sleep again if it comes together.
“Winnable for Khan” ? Really? Obviously it’s a better fight than Collazo, because Khan beat Collazo not so long ago in one of his other comebacks.
I’m not a Khan fan so I always see the worst , but I’d be a hypocrite if I criticised him for this. It’s a meaningful fight for a title. I don’t think he has a hope in hell, but what I think doesn’t matter.
I’m more pissed off that Crawford , who I rate extremely highly in the p4p lists , is associated with taking on either of these very unsatisfactory opponents . I think either one is a mismatch and does nothing for his career. Very disappointing.
I posted in one of the other threads that Top Rank had offered Angel Garcia 3 mil for Danny to face Crawford in Mar but they hadn't heard anything back. This was about a month ago I guess, I think that's why Collazo's name came into the mix as a back up plan. Now Khan is on the menu.
Either way we have all these top welters and no ones fighting each other.
Exactly. Khan-Crawford makes little sense, and just postpones the grudge match everyone wants to see. Well.... has wanted to see, anyway. Don't know how long it takes for that to whittle down also.
Khan has always "wanted" to fight everyone on the planet EXCEPT for Brook. Maddening.
Khan would make Crawford look spectacular. I have a feeling this is just a negotiating tactic. Surely he's going to take the Brook fight. It's a matter of time till he gets divorced if he isn't getting divorced already and he's going to need the money. Crawford is not PPV Alvarez and he's Arum/ESPN which means there's a limited budget for any Crawford opponent, not to mention being on the end of a one sided arse kicking.
Khan is the A side.
Watching Brook fight is painful at times.
Khan is the one trying to chase greatness and hopefully going after Crawford...Brook is chasing Khan rather than chasing a world title to put himself in a better position.
Brook leaves the ingle gym and looks flat as anything..wonder why he left and the change in performance.. mmmmm.
Khan and Brook is on the slide so we can’t blame Khan for considering other options...
Khan is now a natural 147 fighter and he creates excitement in his fights..Crawford would be a great fight.
Khan faked this fight, no way will he take on Crawford. He will want Manny or Danny Garcia.
It is very frustrating.
147 is arguably the best division in boxing, yet, with exception of Shawn Porter, who would fight the Devil & Thanos in consecutive nights, all the big dogs have managed to avoid fighting each other.
Even Amir Khan (who isn't a big dog) managed to pee away a lot of his prime, lying idle for years, when there were cracking fights for him out there.
At least he has now, somewhat belatedly, realised there are some big fights for him out there at 147
Seems to me like there is some smoke to all of this Khan v Crawford shit.

To me: Crawford can USE the pay day. Sadly, Khan can get him that top dollar. But Khan does not deserve a title shot atm!
Again, better than Collazo ;D. Khan is the kind of customer who is always "just looking" while distracting you from other shoppers and never fully commits to a real sale. Crawford would retire him.
I dunno how Khan does it? Ya know? Kinda talks himself right back into big money fights without doing fuck all for it. It's like his last brutal KO was just an accident.... Ya know!?
;D
Khan should have been done from the Danny Garcia KO. But here we are again- With talks of, possibly, a multi-million dollar payday for him and probably gonna be the largest, single payday for Crawford to date if he takes it too.
This is EASILY a $5 mil fight for Crawford and about $4 for Khan- Maybe more both ways.
But let's see how he dispatches Collazo.
Nothing announced yet?
Khan would hate to loose to Brook..I don’t see that fight happening.
I know nothing about Crawford. Hit hard?
Does Khan have a chance in this
Crawford can switch between orthodox and southpaw with ease. He’s a very clever fighter with great technique that has not looked small when he’s gone up the weights. And for a skilled boxer, he’s also got that spiteful streak in him , which is why he is one of the best fighters in World Boxing at the minute.
And yes, he hits hard enough.
I know @Master had answered your question, but I thought I would try to give you a bit more than some copy and paste from the BBC Sport website. ;) ;D;D
Khan must be doing it to annoy Brook, nothing to do with actually winning the fight.
A peak Khan, however you want to interpret that from a few years ago could have conceivably dragged this out with speed and elusiveness and made Crawford miss enough to have at least a chance of a narrow points decision. Khan circa 2019 could be stopped very early. Khan has clearly lost the edge that gave him a get out clause when faced with a dangerous opponent. TKO/KO for Crawford is the most likely outcome but I would not put it past Khan to drag one more performance out of the fire and at least make it entertaining and competitive for a few rounds. Unlikely though.
Just imagine if Khan wins..
Firstly..watch some fights! ;D We've seen some oddities and craziness in the sport to declare total certainty but Crawford is one of the more diverse boxers and brutal finishers going today. Khan will have to box with him and he'll sit on the end of superb accuracy and speed from both sides. Crawford has an increasing cocky mean streak and if Khan makes the final bell I'll be shocked.
A peak Khan would have still gotten destroyed by Crawford. Khan had a few decent wins during his career but nothing great. Maidana was far and away his best win. Khan was in top form that fight and barely pulled it out. Crawford would stop a prime Khan probably late. Khan may win a few rounds, but he would be a giant underdog.
Arguably Khan will be Crawford's best win, certainly his most high profile. And Khan has always done great with boxers.
Just look at the guys Canelo completly and utterly outclasses, Khan gave him weight and held his own until the inevitable. Let alone the world-class fighters he's beat.
come on ffs. While I don’t have much of a problem with this fight , let’s not try to make out that he deserves it . Loads of fights on his record will be better wins than this.
And as for the Canelo thing, he didn’t do anything special and then got spectacularly KO’d as expected.
Pumping up Canelo in order to then pump up Khan. ;D Totally unnecessary.
Canelo-Khan was the predictable plodder vs. boxer. Except this time the boxer had idiotically jumped up two weight divisions to meet someone who has made a career of coming in much heavier than his opponents..... and these are the ones from the SAME DIVISION. ;D Credit to Khan for lasting as long as he did..... but it was like watching Teofilo Stevenson or an early George Foreman walking around with the right hand cocked and waiting for the mosquito to stay still.
Chris Algieri bullied, boxed and backed Khan in gaps. Chris I'm a nutritionist Algieri.
Take your personal feelings for Khan out of it then pick any fighter on Crawford's record who can boast a winning record of 9-2 against world-class opposition?
Canelo
Maidana
Zab
Paulie
Kotelnik
Garcia
Peterson
Alexander
Collazo
Barrera
Algieri
I don't care about "deserve" or even if Khan can win, I am merely pointing out he will be Crawford's biggest and best name. And contrary to what many claim, you quite simply can't beat that many world-class fighters without being seriously top-drawer yourself.
My point about Canelo - which went over some heads, as usual (:D) - is everyone thought Khan was past it then and KNEW he was going to get ironed out in a mismatch, however, he won rounds against a P4P dude even giving away all the advantages.
He will obviously prepare for Crawford much more diligently than his comeback warmups, therefore a fully tuned up Khan has enough credentials to give Crawford a better fight than most expect. This time at least he'll be fighting a man the same size who might need more than one punch to send him into outer space.
There's far more predictable fights on the table for Crawford than Khan's speed and pedigree.
The point I highlighted was that this will be "arguably Crawford's best win." I'm sorry, but that's bullshit, and that's why I'm arguing it.
forget about "all our yesterdays" and what he was in the past , at this moment in time I don't see how Khan can be rated in the 10 best WW's on the planet based on what he has ACTUALLY done in the ring of late.
and you're telling me that Crawford beating a guy who isn't even in the top 10 is a better victory than beating a World Champion convincingly for the title in their own Back Yard (Burns) or beating highly ranked opponents like Gamboa , Beltran and Dulorme. Or going up in weight and beating Viktor Postol, or even taking a title from a guy who beat Manny Pacquiao!
Like I said, I'm not against the fight, from Khan's side , because he's fighting a top guy for a World Title, best of luck to him. From Crawford's side , Khan has to be a better opponent than Collazo because Khan beat him.
But let's not hype up Khan , or even perhaps discredit Crawford with comments like this being Crawford's best win.
and finally, again, let's not put all the bells and whistles on Khan's performance against Canelo because he won a fucking round or two. Canelo just stalked Khan a bit like a bull and a matador until Canelo caught up with him. it was ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN LIKE THAT!
no disrespect, but This is the same horseshit argument as when people saying Khan was winning against Danny Garcia before he got KO'd!!!!! it's ludicrous.
Normally you can't completely discount a fighter's chances because any Boxer should have a puncher's chance, but I don't even think Khan has that chance.
I honestly believe that the only chance Khan has got is if Crawford gets injured in the fight (shoulder or something) and Khan is fighting an invalid. But good luck to him nonetheless.
So Crawford's best opponents are -
Burns - Fought Crawford coming off a loss to Beltran, had previously been battered at British level and post Crawford lost another million fights.
Gamboa - A little featherweight who was forced to move back down in weight after losing and/or struggling with everyone at 135.
Beltran - A solid fringe world-class/journeyman drugs cheat with a million losses.
Dulorme - What the!!! How does he possibly rank any higher than Khan's last opponent - Vargas? Khan literally has a dozen names with better credentials.
Postol - Claim to fame? Forced a shot Matthesye to quit then after getting schooled by Crawford got a 2nd schooling off a British prospect.
Khan's best opponents are littered with "world" champions, unified champions, multi-division champions, lineal champions, current and former P4P and HOF-amers!!!
Canelo
Maidana
Zab
Paulie
Kotelnik
Garcia
Peterson
Alexander
Collazo
Barrera
Algieri
Khan's opposition makes Crawford's look embarrassing. Fact.
Hold up mate, you've named Crawford's best wins between 2014-16, right? You chose them.
During that period Khan fought Collazo, Alexander, Algieri and Canelo?
You quite simply can't deny that Khan has superior credentials to anyone Crawford has faced, whether it be a million years ago or now. Fact.
