Tony Oakey v Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy
There is a big rematch on Saturday night at The Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. Two years ago, in Bristol, Tony Oakey beat Jeff Lacy when "Left Hook" retired with a bicep injury at the end of the 5th round. Since then the two have been exchanging insults via Facebook with their views on what actually happened. Now they are set to fight again in a show promoted by Matt Crouch's Punch Promotions. And it promises to be explosive judging from their interview in a special "The gloves are Off" YouTube video. Enjoy !! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx1-Ry9BMIs
Re: Tony Oakey v Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy
This video was tragic/mental enough to make me google the result, even watched a shitty videophone of the fight. Looked like Calzaghe-Lacy except this time Lacy got the result expected back in the day. I assume they have docs and medical bods at these shows? Oakey was all over the shop.
Re: Tony Oakey v Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy
I just watched as well, probably the same video. So the first fight was the same deal as well? You’d have to assume the fights have medical staff and are sanctioned in some way... the chances of a serious injury here were as high as anywhere, no promoters would be that dumb. Makes you wonder why it couldn’t just be on some small pro event or way down the undercard somewhere though, guess these things make some cash for a few people:confused:
Toney oakey vs Rocky Fielding could be a good fight.
Re: Tony Oakey v Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy
I bet that brought back some memories for Robin Reid. He looked like he was fixing to stick one on Lacy when he saw the end coming. Sadly, this makes it one a piece :-\
Someone must be making some dough out of it.
