Young Irish Boxer...would appreciate anyones comments
I'm a 19 year ol amateur, 15-1from Galway, Ireland. I live for boxing but I Feel iv been a real under achiever so far. I've won every regional championship iv entered but iv failed to excel due to lack of expierience/insufficient training. Have been advised to turn pro aged twenty solely because of my left hook and chin! Any advice/criticism would be welcomed!!!

I think the simple fact that you're on here asking us means you're not 100% confident in your abilities. This would suggest that no, you're not ready to take that leap. Travel abroad, find a gym and trainer and take a year or two more to refine your skills. The professional ranks will always be there. join them when you're ready.

Yeah, i agree with Von. You'll always under achieve if you dont have 100% confidence in your ability because only when you have that confidence can you perform your best. At 20 years old you've got time to wait and join the pro ranks when you feel you're ready.
If lack of training etc is the problem, you truly life for boxing and want to make if happen and if you havnt got anything really stopping you from doing it, then move away, set yourself up somewhere different, probably abroad where theres top class gyms and loads of good sparring partners ready to take you to the next level. Its better to hit the pro ranks hard in 2 years than just go in there now and be average. Underachieving in the amatures is one thing, its gonna feel 10 times as bad if you underachieve after turning pro just because of insufficient training etc.
Just my opinion but best of luck whichever way you decide to go
Cheers

Re: Young Irish Boxer...would appreciate anyones comments
Are you considering education over a professional career? I don't understand, what is there to think about? You're at the age to begin academic, so I would suggest moving in that direction. Your question is a bit too vague. I always tell my amateur fighters that the chain fall as such: Family, school/career, boxing, other. As a professional boxer that chain moves a bit because boxing becomes a part of income. I think you becoming professional entails the importance boxing is in, and is able to be in your life.
