had these two ever fought....i would prob have 2 go with liston. i think liston would ko louis in 6, had there never been ali, liston would have kept demolishing the heavyweight division. louis never fought a fighter of listons caliber, i think liston would be too much for louis and ko him midway.
I take Louis as i feel as he was the greater all round boxer.
i rate joe louis as probably the greatest HW weve ever had.........but....but both in there primes,head to head,i would pick liston to crush the smaller louis rather quickly ;)
I would take Liston... in his prime he was a bigger stronger man, and he could deal with speed like he did against Ali... his jab is longer and IMO harder than Louis', and I think he would beat Joe in a good fight.
Liston by KO in3 rounds just cant see Joe standing up to bigger guy with power.
