conditioning and burning fat
i am 6"3 and 13st7lbs (approx 190lbs) i'm quite leanly built but have a little fat on my stomach that i want to get rid of to get my six pack back, i'm 19 and have only put on this fat in the last year or two.
however i don't want to do too much running and dieting because i don't want to lose muscle mass.
any training tips to shift the fat and keep the muscle
Re: conditioning and burning fat
if you are quite lean you may only need to tincker with your programme, you don't say what you do at the moment but what has happened last year to cause you to gain a little more body fat?
You may just need to do something simple like taking up the intensity of your training, if you run add sprints, spar with a higher workrate, do an extra round of circuits after your gym work.
If you drink alcohol-STOP.
Re: conditioning and burning fat
my thai boxing gym closed down and then i was doing some bodybuilding and therefore upping my calories, i also neglected cardio work for a while because of the emphasis on building muscle.
i think a factor was that i stopped growing in height and found that i can't eat whatever i want anymore.
ive been training on the heavy bag and speedball and doing floor work for the last few weeks and i'm booked in to join an ABA gym on monday.
hopefully i'll be back in shape by the summer.
Re: conditioning and burning fat
it's tough when a gym you like closes or changes. At least you're aware of what's is the likely cause. I'm sure once you get back in the gym and the trainers shouting at you the belly will drop off you, keep up the hard work ;)

dude, eat protein!
if you crank up the protein count and reduce the barbs its near on impossible for you to lose muscle mass, unless your planning on running for 40 miles or so.
try different types of working out aswell. you can run which is a constant, but your body may react to faster stitch stuff such as sprints.
and remember, for every lb of muscle you put on your body burns an extra 50 calories a day, why do you think ronnie coleman can eat 9000 callories a day in competition season!
Re: conditioning and burning fat
how many steroids does he take?
Re: conditioning and burning fat
many many steroids. thats pretty much all he is, pure steroids. and i dont understand how he can pass drugs tests! i mean for gods sake, the guy is blatently cheating!
but hey, if thats what he wants to be, then go for it!
