Im blaming the dirty Arabs.
They like to promote these airplane losses, but it really is much safer than traveling by car. You don't hear every day '2 people died driving in New York, 1 died in L.A., 3 died in up somewhere in Idaho' etc. Instead it is much more dramatic to say 200 missing, 162 presumed dead etc. It is TV as shock and thrill and it's a bit gross. There isn't any information, so how about stop speculating and just report serious stuff that we DO KNOW about. That is NEWS, idle speculation for hours on end really isn't.
That sucks :(
People can talk about how rare airline accidents are - and they're completely right - but it's still scary shit when you think about what could happen in the event of something like this.
Personally I hate flying. Every little bump and my heart rate shoots up.
You are right, Tito. At least driving a car, most of the time you can have some impact on the result. On an airplane, you are powerless. There isn't much you can do except wait for the inevitable. It is tragic. Don't know what to say really, there is nothing positive. These terrible things just sometimes happen.
God knows why these things happen. I do NOT.
Oh, thought it was Tito before, should have been Beanflicker I was referring to. This one seems to have been weather and dumped in the ocean, but still a lot of time given to mere guess work and totally ignoring other news. They always do this with planes. It's wrong to play it up like some murder mystery.

so inexperienced pilot panics the "fly by wire" mechanism of airbus's newer planes caused confusion, cant see anything, dodgy readings=crash
Even though it's really rare that accident are happening. I've been on so many flights where the turbolens have been so bad that half of the people who was on the plane throw up, been sitting next to a dead person to... and old ladies who piss themself. But after all it's really nice, just sitting down having free drinks/beers, food, just tell em what you want and you basically get it. And sometimes there will be accident but with around 100 000 flights a day and you only read a few times a year that a plane disappear and or get driven into some towers, it's really safe. Most of the people are afraid of flying because they can't do anything to control the suitsuation when they're in the air. you basically put your life in someones hands.
