Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
Just curious. I know there are a lot of Pacnuthuggers, but is he that bad of a boxer for people to hate him?
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
So people shouldn't criticize him? So people that see a blatant robbery shouldn't complain about it?
Should we all kneel and worship him like those loafers do in his house? Not a chance. If I see injustice I will talk about it and what I saw think weekend was really awful. It wasn't Manny's fault directly, but when you have peculiar people talking about foot stomping and offering bizarre assessments of how the fight was not a robbery then that is bound to provoke a reaction too.
If Manny had admitted he lost there wouldn't be much to be railing against and the same if his fans would just accept it too without going off into fantasy land.

Im a fan of JMM but i got nothing against Manny Pacquiao, its just i think my fighter has been unfairly treated in scoring just because Manny Pacquiao is the bigger fighter.
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
I did not say we should not criticize him. I thought he did shitty on his fight against JMM, and he should carefully think about his skills if he were to fight PBF. But to hate him because there so many fans out there who worship him blindly, then that is not really fair. He has a lot of flaws and that makes him human, if anyone should hate anyone it should be Bob Arum or the Judges.

I agree, but the way I see it, fans' opinion is a two way street. You may see it differently, and may argue for all eternity, but some will always think the other way around. Actually, we are divided here, as I myself is in fact divided. I see marquez winning, pac lost his fire in the ring. Judges saw pac as the winner, I can live with that, but still in my mind, pac lost this time around. What ever the reason is simply worthless now since the fight has been concluded. The only way to deal with this is to have both guys to fight again and I dont think another decision will settle this rivalry once and for all. We all needed a KO the next time.
For discussion's sake, since issues of foot stomping (whatever it is), bribery, robbery, cheating is brought up, fans like you and me will have opinions to share. And I like when I do that.
For the case of haters, thats a roughly strong word to describe other fans. I may classify them into two--Critics and Haters. Its very hard to tell who's the hater and who's a critic. Many haters can be critics, and you can always feel the hate whenever they criticize. Many critics can become haters, when all avenues of argument fails, they will always resort to hateful alternatives.

It's just a sign he's so popular and so brilliant. All the best fighters get it.

Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
I respect Manny for all he has done in the ring and grudgingly so at times because of the way the opponents have all too frequently been my favourites, but have always given credit in the immediate aftermath of a fight. When he destroyed Hatton I was the first on here saying 'well done' and likewise with the Cotto and Margarito wins. I criticized aspects prior to the fights such as Margarito being a crook and Cotto being at a CW and I was critical here too as I believe the Marquez fight should have been at 140, but after the fight have always said fair play to the victor.
I would just like the die hard Pac fans to admit that he lost and for them to have the saem balls. It doesn't mean selling your soul to admit that you are wrong sometimes and some of these people are too stubborn and are coming up with daft excuses. That is what irritates me. Not only the awful nature of the judging, but the pigheadedness of fanboys.
They have mocked Marquez for years and tarnished his name and even when Marquez does it again they have to evade and hide from the obvious way in which Manny was shown up. It is cowardice pure and simple.
I would have respected Manny so much more if he gave Marquez his dues and said 'fair enough he got me'. He couldn't do it and neither can some of these diehards. It's a shame.

Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
Justin Bieber? Justin bloody Bieber? Talented? I disagree and I hate him too.
The only thing him and Pacquiao have in common are the daft haircuts and actually the quality of the singing is equally dire too.
Horrid teenage hormonal muck.

Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
I was ranting a bit there, Justin Bieber clearly ranks far higher on my celebrity loathing list above Manny Pacquiao who to his credit does have quite a lot of talent. However, he does have a silly haircut. There is no escaping that. Bilbo will likely get the same cut a week from now to go with his skinny jeans.

No, the same old me, but not happy with what happened at all. I was convinced that it was a Marquez victory, it was so clear. I don't really see how it went the way it did and the post fight melodrama has vindicated that initial point of view. I wasn't flawed or biased, what I saw was what happened and my repeat viewing nailed that home.
I sound much more angry than I really am, but I am clearly a tad irate about it. It's just not fair.

Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
i think the TS meant people saying nasty things to pac and the fans. nothing wrong in saying who you think won. its the bashing of pac and pacfans that happens after. people saying that he is a hype job or that pac has no talent at all and was fed bum fighters and that pac knew the fight was fixed before hand.
i think the TS is also referring to people that keeps on hating at pac and the pacfans filipinos the philippines. thing is they keep on saying that they are like that cause of over the top pac nuthuggers when infact pachaters outnumbers pac nuthuggers here in saddo.
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
Well, on the whole I think a lot of Pac fans actually like me and respect my stance on a number of issues. And when it comes to the Philippines, I have friends from that part of the world and nobody calls me a serious hater. Though huggers on here probably would. They are just plain odd though.
Pac has fought decent opponents, though in terms of styles has been matched up and now when face to face with Marquez again it was all shown to be illusion. It has been shown that it wasn't hating. Pac hasn't really improved at all. He has just bulked up and kept some snazzy power.
Those who said it was smoke and mirrors have been shown to be right. An old man moving up two divisions could do exactly what he wanted and for the third time. Understandably that makes Pac look a bit silly. But at the same time we should elevate Marquez and rightfully so. He is arguably the best fighter in the world bar one. And Floyd wouldn't even make weight for him. He is that dangerous.
It has destroyed the Pac/Mayweather matchup in my eyes.

No offense Miles - but you were one of the main people who doubted Marquez before the fight because it was being fought at welterweight. I never once doubted Marquez. I'm neither Flomo nor Pactard. I never have been. I have always said Floyd beats Manny. The writing was on the wall that Manny had trouble with counter punchers. Let's be objective here - it doesn't make his meteoric rise in weight any less impressive, it really doesn't (how many top ten welterweights has Floyd fought?) but every single one of Pacquiao's opponents was an offensive fighter. Every single one. Bruce Trampler at Top Rank is no dummy matchmaker. He knows how to match styles. Manny doesn't look silly here because an old man Marquez came up in weight and fought him neck and neck. I completely disagree. Marquez has always been a great boxer and he still is and he has always been able to counter Manny and he still does. Yet, Manny is still Manny Pacquiao. Put him in with Tim Bradley etc. and he'll knock off another top guy. At the same time, put him in with Marquez and he'll be in another close fight. Mayweather would dominate him. What this fight did at its essence is expose his weakness.
I agree that it has destroyed the Pac/Mayweather matchup for certain. Mayweather made the mistake of making this a ped issue. Manny could have been on 10 different varieties of ped's the other night, and the bottom line is he still can't fight a counter puncher. Roach hasn't taught him how to do it for some reason.

Even Floyd. Any popular/good fighter has an army of silly haters. That's just the way it goes.

Fenster is right. No one hated on Bute or Martinez up until a few fights ago. Now there are tons of haters. You know who that paradigm doesn't work for though? Carl Froch. I don't think Carl Froch has many haters. Is that correct?
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
Amid all the anti-Pacquiao backlash, you know what hasn't been said at all? Pacquiao stylistically fought a tough opponent. TIt wasn't smoke and mirrors this time at least. They chose a tough counter puncher, a guy that they had a ton of problems with in two fights. They could have chosen Tim Bradley. And they're willing to do face Marquez again. Think that will be an easy fight for Pacquiao?
One positive thing for me that will come out of last weekend: no more Flomo vs. Pactard bull crap. Good riddance. Finally, we can get back to a time when boxing discussions focused on other fights.

Carl Froch still doesn't have that many fans. He got dogs abuse until he fought Taylor. Then he got dogs abuse for scoring a "lucky" KO. However, even the silly haters realise slating Froch after his exploits in the last few years makes you look pathetic.
I still don't see what's so good about Froch. Can't argue with the facts/proven form though.

From what i've been able to tell, most of the serious hate for Pacquiao comes from Marquez/Mexican and Mayweather Jr. fans. Some of them take the hatred to childish extremes, like throwing glasses and bottles in the ring aimed at Pacquiao last Saturday. WTF does any of this have to do with boxing? That's just low-life, trashy, criminal behavior, and that mentality, has no place in a civil society.
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
Its really his camp and his "nuthuggers" that make me mad, i love pac, but his teams talk and his fans talking just riddled with lies, false facts, and contradicting opinions. In the words of roger mayweather "most people dont know shit about boxing" and in the end thats where the anger of real fans comes from
-
Re: Why so many Pac haters? It seems that every thread there's always a hater?
I don't think it's hatred, more dissappointment. Kinda like thinking this david guy really was gonna beat golliath just to find out they are banning rocks this time. This so called hatred isn't from floyd fans or anti pac fans necessarily most of it is from his own fans or people who hate floyd so much they just jumped on board. I think all this is good, pac has just as much a chance of beating floyd as he did before, but it's nice to see we are on the verdge of coming back to the sport as a whole and ditching all the riddiculous , dreams hypocritical talk of pac fans and the ridiculousness and antics of floyd and his group towards pac. These two shoulda fought years ago the more people that loose faith the less money both of them make. Good. People have hated on floyd year round, christ even when the dude tried to retire so pac and his people can put on thier big boy underwear and take it for a week or so.

All hate aside, and i'm a Pac fan, but his stock went straight into the toilet after Saturday. It's hard to figure, Pac blitzes through 6 of the best fighters in the world with relative ease, but looks average/ordinary against Marquez, it's puzzling.

Most of us saw the fight on the tube. There were 3 judges. They saw the fight steady and upclose in 3 different angles. Not one of them give it to Marquez. Why? Maybe 1 or 2 of them saw what we didn't see that favored Pac.

I'm gonna watch the replay saturday and make up my own mind, in any event Pac didn't fight up to his normal standards against Marquez. He lost more rounds then he had in the total of his 7 previous fights. Sure JMM fought a great fight, but I still don't get why Pac looked so ordinary.

Take into account that he blitzed through 6 offensive machines. When was the last time he fought a counter-puncher? Marquez and he had trouble then. Frankly, that counter-punching style of boxing is Pac's kriptonite. It doesn't mean cleaning out the welterweight division isn't impressive, but he has yet to show he can decisively beat a counter puncher.
I also think everyone underestimated how well Marquez would look at welterweight. People put down Marquez after his fight against Mayweather, but the truth is that was his only fight at 147. It turns out when he trained properly for 147, he was fantastic at the weight.

Good point, and anyone can look like shit against Mayweather. Keep in mind that Mayweather was much bigger than Marquez, who's best fighting weight is probably 140.

because the definition of a Pachater is the following: Anyone who doesn't get on his knees to suck off Manny Pacquiao, anyone who doesn't think that he's as great as most of his peons do, anyone who thinks that Manny Pacquiao lost fights against Marquez
it's always been this way, and yea PSL the judges did see something that none of us did, they saw a bunch of Ben Franklins eagerly waiting for them prior to the start of the fight :-X

I don't know, didn't Marquez come in at 142 at the weigh-in last Friday? Not trying to argue, but it just seems like at this point in his career 140 would work best for JMM, but then WTF do I know. ;)

"The difference among the best in world is not nearly as much as the public believes," Kellerman said. "That said he's among the very greatest fighters that ever lived. I thought he looked excellent against Marquez, he fought a draw with a great fighter. That he has trouble with counterpunchers doesn't diminish him. Everyone could be better. There's no perfection. Through talent and dedication and matchmaking there's been created a standard of perfection, but no one will ever be perfect."

142 at the weigh in versus Pacquiao's 143 and 150 the night of the fight versus Pacquiao's 148.

not even, didn't have a problem with Manny until his hoard of fans started trying to make him out to be a gift from God, more or less after the DLH fight, Raheem had already picked up the win against Morales and that was already a showing that the end was coming near for Erik, don't get confused, yea Morales put on two great performances in his last two fights, but one was against an unknown young kid, and the other against Maidana who was perfectly made for him (slow, wide shots, doesn't use straight punches), unlike the Pactards, I don't dwell on shit that cleanly happens in the ring, Manny beat Cotto, he did so fairly, like I said in another post yea Cotto didn't have a corner, but who's fault is that? it was Miguel's not Pacquiao's, but when it comes to fights like his wins over the likes of DLH, Mosley, Diaz, and especially Marquez, there's plenty of bullshit surrounding all of them
Oscar was weight drained and shot to shit, so I fail to see why that was such a big win, especially when Roach himself openly admits that's why they took the fight
Mosley shot as well and had just gotten his ass handed to him by Mayweather
Diaz was just given a gift decision against Erik Morales (IMO worst decision of the year), and was still the weakest "champ" at 135
and well as previously stated Marquez has gone 3-0 against Manny or at the very worst 2-0-1
