Re: Mayweather Vs Cotto Predictions
You lot dont seem to think its gonna be much of a fight. Even the ones excited about this fight on average think Cotto will lose by about four rounds. How can a fight like this get you excited.
I hope to god im wrong and Cotto has a chance of winning but I just cant believe hes got the slightest chance. Im sticking with my first opinion. Mayweather wins 9 rounds to 3.

Mayweather on the oher hand is far more mobile, and when he moves out of Cotto range he will counter over count, around, underneath and Cotto won't be able to react quick enough. To make matters worse, Cotto doesn't actually have a huge arsenal of punches that will really hurt Mayweather, it's basically his left hook to the head or body, and like Oscar we might never see him land a solid one. I think mayweather has also stiffened up his jab a lot since then, and he has better learned how to stand his ground and comit more to the right hand. All in all Cotto could present some interesting challenges, but he will be a little too slow, and just technically outmatched like everyone else because they look for the wrong stuff to beat maweather.
Cotto's ability to move on his back foot has improved with his new trainer, Diaz. He did a better job of moving backward in spots against Margarito in their second fight. However, Diaz also has turned Cotto into more of a boxer than the seek-and-destroy fighter he was previous to Margarito I. If Cotto could combine the previous version of himself with his improved ability to move backward, he would have his best chance for a win. Cotto can't box with Mayweather. Thus, I believe the chances of Cotto winning are slim to none. Still, I anticipate it'll be fun viewing.

He's lost two fights. One to a cheater, where he was smart enough to take a knee and avoid getting pummeled by plaster casts... and another where the REF stopped the fight. But what the hell am I doing even acknowledging your stupidity in this forum? You sure that baseball bat didn't actually hit you on the head?

This fight isn't going the distance, one way or another.. Cotto might quit on his knees again..

Just wondering...

Cotto fought a guy with cement blocks on his knuckles when gave up. Floyd has brittle hands. Common sense dictates that you are more likely wrong with your theory there homie.

DLH was really close of beating Floyd with jabs, and Miguel has better jab.
Also, Miguel must not back pedal. Judges hate that.
l'm a Pac fan. And l think this is gonna more competitive fight.
Glad you changed your mind.
Lol!
From Cotto via SD, to Floyd SD/UD. Don't be surprised if l change my mind again. That's how close the fight is going to be imo.
1 thang fosho though. l aint sig betting on this fight. Uh-uh, no sir.
If it does turn out to be a close fight, or Cotto wins, then we could see a rematch, that is of course if the first fight wasn't a snoozer.
I like the fact that the fight will be at 154, and that it will be for Cotto's WBA junior middleweight title, some small but significant advantages for Cotto.

I don't see Floyd knocking out Cotto, contrary to popular belief, Mayweather is not a big puncher.

The thing is with Mayweather is his defense, he can make a great fighter, (think JMM) look like an amateur. I'd love to see Miguel win, but it would have to be considered a big upset, I still like Cotto's chances.
That's what I was explaining to my friend on PAC vs Marquez 3 that just cuz he looked bad vs mayweather doesn't mean hes gonna look bad vs pacquiao. I explained to him how if you have 2 great defensive fighters but one is bigger then the other the bigger one will always win easily because the little guy will have to go offensive and move out of his specialty the big guy just has counter and get out of the way which ofcourse is his specialty. There's other examples to but I'll just stick to that basic one I like to think of it as some one fighting an up hill battle too ;)
I've noticed in a few of Floyd's latest fights that he's leaving his defensive shell a bit to become more of a fan pleaser. I'm hoping he decides to open up and trade with Cotto, and if he does he's liable to get caught with something big. (we can hope)
