Carl Johanneson looking for revenge against Leva Kirakosyan
Carl Johanneson is going to be looking to avenge one of only two defeats he's suffered in a fortnight, 13 July, as he goes in against European Super Featherweight champion Leva Kirakosyan. The 2004 defeat was the last time Johanneson lost, whilst Kirakosyan (25-4) is undefeated since the fight before he beat Johanneson, against Michael Gomez.
========
Full RBR coverage will not be provided on this one I'm afraid, cause I'm going to be at the Fflam music Festival that weekend. However, I wish I could watch this one, cause it has all the hallmarks of being an absolute cracker, and I will definitely be putting the SKy+ on for it. They're both heavy handed, and Johanneson has been on the up and up since the defeat, and I reckon he could well beat Kirakosyan this time around. And despite him being really difficult to interview, it's hard not to like the lad.
Re: Carl Johanneson looking for revenge against Leva Kirakosyan
After the recent postponement of the Fflam Festival this week, I guess I may well be doing an RBR for this fight next week, along with a few for the Saturday night bill down in London with Skevlton v Sprott and Khan v Limond and Nicky Cook v Steve Luevano.
Appy Days.

Good work Rhun. Carl's an entertaining fighter.

I remember reading Johanneson shouldn't of been in the ring with Kirakosyan last time cause of personal problems.
Must be tough mentally to go back in with someone thats sparked you so quick. If i wasn't a fan of Johanneson i'd be backing Kirakosyan - 2/1 underdog :o

I read that his girlfriend had just died of cancer and his head wasn't there....understandably. IMO this fight makes Johanesson. If he wins he and Arthur wins it could well be that Johanesson is Arthurs 1st defence as a world champion.

No, Johanneson is on Friday night on a Sky bill, RBR coverage will be down here. The bill is held at the Metrodome in Barnsley, and we also got John Fewkes v Tontcho Tontchev and Akaash Bhatia on the undercard.
