Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
From being a member on the forum for around a month or so, ive noticed lots of comments from members about lots of different fighters.
Im asking who is the most 'talked about' fighter, not neccessarily in a good or bad way, but which fighter do you think generates the most discussion.
In my opinion, from what ive seen, its a t*ss up beteen floyd mayweather and joe calzaghe.
Everyone either wants to praise or to bash these guys, the fact is that they are both unbeaten and both great champs. (Ironically some people will disagree with me even by saying 'both great champs' and say floyd is crap or joe is crap etc etc and that just goes to show how 'controversial' the pair of them are.)
Can you think of anyone who generates more discussion than either of these 2?
Id say close to these 2 would be hatton and cotto (aswell as hopkins recently but i believe thats only due to the fact he fought calzaghe).
Who is the number one most 'talked about' fighter, joe or floyd? Or maybe someone else?
Who is the fighter you like the most? Who is the fighter you love to hate?
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
Most talked about fighter in this forum:
1. Mayweather
2. Pacquaio
3. Cotto
I'll add more later.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
I think one of the most controversial focal points in boxing is Edwin Valero.
I have heard him refered to as an underground boxing sensation with a cult like following and there is huge debate whether or not he should be allowed to fight in the US.
Obviously the fans claim he should be allowed, lusting for action and KO's.
But all sanctioning bodies want him to stay well away from boxing!

Ive seen him fight, only once though...but DAMN!!!
That guy can hit! Hits friggin hard for a lil guy!
Possibly p4p the hardest hitter in boxing, his 18 first fights all came from ko in the first round lol, but he still needs to work on skills. He runs in like a bull and throws great combos with great power but his footwork isnt very good and neither is his defense.
With enough work on his defence (by the time hes 30 years old) if he has his defence and footwork sorted then that lil guy could be one mean mean mean mofo lol.

He's dangerous.
We haven't seen anything to suggest his own chin is teak, and he has some stylistic problems (because of negligence.)
But he's a huge hitter.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
I'd say Floyd is definetely the most talked about here... Hatton was big at one stage after Kostya, and for good reason.. We have a lot of UK people here and he was very hot property as he fought some US guys and Mayweather.. Havn't heard much of him since,, until his next fight of course.
Calzaghe was talked about here and there until and after his Kess fight, then he was constantly being talked about, whether or not the BHOP fight would happen, who would win.. The last 4 weeks it's been almost all Calzaghe Hopkins.
I guess around the big fights, everyone get's fight fever and their are endless posts around the same fighters.. It's a part of what makes this place great actually... You get swept up into the big fights with endless debate on every aspect of up & coming fights, and current fights..
Pavlik was popular for a while there as well with his 2 big wins. Coming from no where to be the name on everyone's minds.
Overall though, Floyd is the main stayer... Whether he's been winning, or not fighting, their is always something to talk about with him... He's also has the most people on sides of the fence of like/dislike I think... So their is no shortage of people with opinions on him.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
Oops, forgot Cotto... The guy is an up & coming machine.. In fact he's already here. :) !!! As long as he's fighting, every win will get him more and more posts.
Perhaps not controversy though... I don't think i've heard one person here say even a single bad, negative or UNpositive thing about him..... And Saddo is full of highly opinionated f'kers.. So that's already saying what a great champ he's going to make for the next 15 years

Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
W. Klitchsko gets alot of talk. Margarito can be seen in some serious discussions as well, + Judah.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
PBF no doubt. Although it changes obviously. When I first came here it was B-Hop - Taylor, and the forum seemed to revolve around them and Wlad. So it goes through stages but it's been Floyd since I've been here.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
Counterfit money probbably.
Junior Witter lately by making himself popular putting his name next to Hatton's.
Miguel Cotto has a lot of fans on here also, Macho and Danny G spring to mind.
Pacman is talked about a lot with Rains, Pacstraightleft and Pacfan on here.......
There's a few.
Re: Who is the most talked about 'controversial' fighter today?
Top 5 on here i'd say are Mayweather, Calzaghe, Hatton, Cotto and Oscar
But it varies depending on who is fighting who.
A fighter becomes more popular and talked about if he has a big upcoming fight.

You decided against the inclusion of a guy you remind so many posters of when the talk of great heavies; Jack Johnson.
