Excellent news! That is a good rematch. I could see either fighter winning. Some have dismissed Kov as either washed up or overrated or both..... but I think he's still got it in him to win a big fight. Most of it will come down to his mental state. All credit in the world to Eleider, though, as he'll be out to prove his TKO victory was no fluke. Good for us fans that it'll be on ESPN. It's always great to have options.

The more I think about it, the more I like the match. Maybe Kovalev is done, but maybe he still has a little left in him.

    Yea I agree, it's still a fan between 2 top light-heavyweight contenders.

Some fans get caught up in undefeated records, but good fights are what really matter.

I originally thought this was a routine defence and was shocked Kov lost.

I am more interested in the fight now. Kov has a huge mental barrier to overcome and I do not think he can win. Ward has broken Kov.

I was thinking more heart and aura of invincibility but yes that too.

At least Alvarez did it without controversy.

Kovalev bringing in McGirt as trainer for this fight.

OK choice I guess, too late to really make a big difference I think tho.

Agreed. I don’t know if I have ever seen a trainer change this late in someone’s career actually help the fighter.

Suggestion is Kovalev will lose again, switching trainers thus suggesting it was the trainers fault.

Dude needs a mental adjustment, he needs to find the fortitude to admit his faults are his doing. He needs to quit drinking for a minute. Until Kovalev shows this type of fortitude I will never have faith in his fortitude in a fight.
