Default John Murray signs with Frank Warren

Boxing - Warren inks John Murray

I'm a little disappointed he's gone down this route. He'll be more active, but he won't be fighting Linares any time soon. Frank will probably try and drag Michael Gomez out of retirement for a European title defense.

Mick Hennessy. He needed to leave Hennessy for a while. Golden Boy made him an offer, but he opted for Frank instead. I think he'd have been better with Hatton Promotions. Could have appeared on Golden Boy shows, plus Ricky has alot of Manchester fighters, including John's brother, and would have appeared in some truly testing fights. Really like John Murray, but he has said in the past he has underperformed due to lack of quality in the opponent and that has proven to be true because whenever he has faced a decent test he has put on a show. John needs to kick on if we are ever going to see his quality. Just hope Frank doesn't feed him crap opponents.

I'm hoping the same thing too pal..... Don't wanna be seeing world title challenges against crap euro fighters. Can see the start of that a little with Cleverly. Take the back door world title shot and off the radar world title defenses dragging below top class opponents over for title challenges. Hope not......

One thing I hope this does not mean is a fight vs Mitchell..... Please no. Not for a while atleast. Its a shame katsidis doesn't have a title as I'm sure that fight could be made. Unless that fight can be made anyways. Maybe they could fabricate some weird title for it, like Silver, or Brass maybe.

We're seeing it with Ricky Burns right now. He shocks everyone by putting in a monster performance against Rocky Martinez, then his 1st defense was against an obscure Norweigen and his next fight is against the guy who beat Paul Appleby. Come on Frank, really? Why can't Burns fight Fana? Or a Rocky Juarez? No reason at all!

John will now be moving up a level and challenging for the WBO title.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
