Default Did we miss Mayweather-Pacqiou in their primes?

Based on their recent performances, i get the feeling that this fight will no longer be Prime maywaether vs prime pacqiou, if this fight gets made, ill watch it, ill be excited, but i feel like they took to long and now its just not going to be the same fight it could have been.

they're both on the tail end of their careers 33-34 imo, mayweather fights khan mid 2012 and PAC fights bradley about a month apart. If they dont fight late next year when they are 34-35. It's not going to happen ever. I say it will happen, fall of 2012. They're both trying to squeeze out as much win as they can outside of each other while at their peak, knowing that after "that" fight the loser will lose some of it's appeal even just a smidge.

Brave predictions on your part, but i agree with the latter, i think theyre both aware that there has to be a loser in the outcome, i would actually like to see those fights even thou i think the winners are clear cut, i just wish they fight while they are still at the top...i dont want to see jones - hopkins 2.

Master-Boxer I'm with you both, this fight should've happened years ago. The bright side is I dont see them losing to their future endevours Mark my word fall 2012

Yep, they'll milk it like there's no tomorrow, say a trilogy
As much as I love PAC though I see him losing the first and second so no 3rd. Still praying though

My answer is Yes. I think we missed both of their primes. I would say after Pacquaio beat Hatton the fight should have been made.

I definitely think Pacquiao is on the downslide now, not so sure about Mayweather. I think Pac's peak was the Cotto fight and he's been sliding bit by bit since.

It's a shame, but it is probably true.

Will still be a cracker of a fight and even though they might not be at their very peak, they are still leagues above everyone else.
