Default Andre Berto inadvertently dodges a bullet...

All bullshit aside Berto dodged a bullet not fighting Mosley...

Ring rust aside... There's not much of a difference between January 30th and April 10th. It's just over 2 months.

I recognise there were alot of things he had to deal with mentally... But he's had months and a solid training camp to work them out.

He tore his bicep or injured his arm in some manner which must have been difficult but he ended the fight when he could and I applaud him for it. It was a good solid sustained attack that warranted a stoppage.

...But if anybody in here thinks he, after that performance... which was impressive in the end... is ready for Sugar Shane Mosley, I'll say your dillusional.

Would Mosley have done better better under the same circumstances?

SAme thing I said..the Earthquakes save his young career because he would have ended up like lacy v calzaghe or vargas v tito...he's not ready, he should fight collazo or clottey...if he starts barking for pac pbf and mosley he's done...

I agree. Berto is not ready for the big 3. They may very well ruin him. Pac and Mosley would surely stop him. Berto is too predictable, too hittable, and still light green. What we seen in the Collazo fight was no fluke. Berto is not improving. I think he is too sure of himself. That will work on every welter except the big 3. He should let the big 3 work their way out and then take the baton for the changing of the guard.

I think Berto is as good as hes going to get.Hes been doing the same inconsistent things for the past number of fights and for all of his good handspeed, its just not complimented by a 'fluid' style or fast loose legs.He stands right in front, falls into his opponent and is so top heavy that he is just begging to be timed down the middle and or worked on the inside.I think that corner and handlers realize it,you can hear the frustration in between rounds..."dont lean it Andre, throw more than one" seems to run on a loop.I can see them putting him in very deep soon...a sink or swim fight.

I agree Berto woulda had his ass handed to him against Mosley.

But Yahoo sports boxing & MMA columnist, Kevin Lole thinks that Berto is now in "the big 3" with Mayweather and Pacquaio. And has surpassed Mosley with his performance against Quintanna.

God I hate that Kevin Lole douchebag...

    Such an MMA suck ass...

In my opinion the lesson he needed was against Collazo, and he seems to have taken nothing from it.

I still can't make my mind up until he fights someone of Mosleys quality. I don't see him fighting the way he did against Collazo or Quintana if he does fight the better WW's. I see him fighting more defensively. He has to anyway or he will get KO'd. If he can fight better walking backwards rather than just hunting and taking some shots on the way in then I think he can become a major player, but until he gets in the ring with the elite then I'm still not sure about the guy.

Good point..... I think he should actually rematch Collazo and prove that he is willing and able to set a record straight.

I like Berto and agree that he can beat any other guy out there in the division ecept for Mosley, Pacquiao and Mayweather... Pic one and they'd ruin him... All by stoppage.

The Urango fight had me thinking that he may have been evolving as a fighter... Fighting with a game plan, sticking to it and winning. The Urango fight was boring as hell but he stayed away and boxed. It seems to me that he reverts and "fights down" to his opposition. It's a figure of speech... I'm not saying he's not fighting formidable guys cuz he absolutly is. I just think that his learning curve has grinded to a halt and unlike a guy like Pacquiao who has seemingly shattered the learning curve, he's stuck.

    Yes I hate that motherfucker.

He doesn't know shit about boxing.

And you can tell he really doesn't like boxing, and bashes it every chance he gets in favor of the UFC.

He's a coward and an incompetent fool.
