Default Based Chinese publicly execute drug dealers

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/metro.c...n-7665476/amp/

School children were among a crowd of hundreds who watched the execution of two drug dealers.

The criminals were sentenced to death and immediately marched to a firing squad as part of a government crackdown.

The move was designed to act as a deterrent to the children, who had been organised to watch the sentencing rally.

Damn. Oh snap. I’m not for the death penalty but in many countries people think crime X should be punished by death. That can vary from country to country but usually it’s crimes against children. China thinks drug dealing is one of them. They don’t screw around. During one trip to China I was in Beijing and someone approached me selling fake rolexes. I took a look but they weren’t even good knockoffs so I passed. The dude then made a smoking gesture and said “opium”. I never tried opium but it made me think of the opium dens I’ve seen on TV where people smoke the long pipes with the hot babes around them and they seem very happy. Then the scenario of a Chinese courtroom followed by either life in a Chinese prison or execution made me quickly say no ,after thinking of the opium dens for a few nanoseconds. Duerte in the Philippines has an open season on drug dealers, Duerte himself says he threw a drug dealer out of a helicopter and Thailand is executing meth dealers. They must think it’s crazy that we are legalizing weed.

I did read there is a opiate problem in Beijing. A few years ago the government opened some methadone clinics but the junkies are scared to go. They fear being scouted out by the Chinese government. Anyway, these public executions are very popular in China. If they do then in stadiums do they sell snacks

An opposition senator in the Philippines said the death toll in the government's war on drugs has now surpassed 20,000 since President Rodrigo Duterte came to office in 2016.

In a speech before the Philippine Senate on Wednesday, Antonio Trillanes said the Duterte administration's own report shows 3,967 "drug personalities" have been killed after allegedly resisting arrest during police operations between July 1, 2016 and November 27, 2017.

Another 16,355 homicide cases - from July 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017 - have been classified as "under investigation".

The report also said 118,287 drug personalities have been arrested, and 1,308,078 others surrendered to authorities during the same period.

    @walrus

Is it true that a foreign husband/wife is not allowed to work in China? This would basically make them visitors only.

To me it sounds like we need to get tough on more than trade, but deal with the Chinese masses who take advantage of our own far more generous systems.

It sounds really difficult to be a foreigner married to a Chinese person in China. Kind of cruel in fact.

Korea and Japan are much fairer in this regard. Of course the Chinese are the biggest immigrant group and lots of illegals.

The laws are very strange in china. Investment and any type of immigration are very strict compared to us, definitely difficult for an American individual to do business/employment although I know a few who have and did very well but it required handing over some shillings to certain officials. One of my buddies opened a store selling bicycles. He specializes in the expensive well built ones and he did extremely well. Although another guy I knew wanted to take advantage of the huge demand for concrete in China. He set up a cargo ship delivery of concrete to a port in China, got proper documents and permission and when the ship arrived they gave him some bullshit and would not allow it to dock. I don’t know how much he lost but it had to be substantial. Trump gets so much shit about trying to even things out a bit with China but it is such a one way street and has been for so long it makes sense for him to do something

Absolutely. They have taken advantage of our short term greed and mutated it over the long haul without really giving their people genuine freedom. I give America some stick sometimes, but at least you are free to say what you like about the President and so you should be it good or bad.

Good point miles. I get pissed at the mainstream media and the vicious attacks on trump and his supported but the freedom to criticize leaders is very important. You should take a look at what China is doing in the Xinjiang (spelling) province. Damn near complete monitoring of all movement and interactions, people disappear and re-education camps. Identity cards can include genetic information. Makes western surveillance look like light weights. Whenever we bring up human rights issues in China they say they US should stay out of China’s internal affairs which is understandable but that kind of interaction is expected when you are joining the world for trade. I’m all for China doing it’s own thing culturally but human rights is something all countries should be called out on if it is truly unjust.

Well said, I was soft on China a few years ago, but looking into the system more it is very hardcore and basically the same regime that did all kinds of terrible things in the past to its own people. So, yeah, rock on America and as long as Trump is being sensible and closing borders and bringing peace to the region, then he has my support.

Miles, it’s like we are on the same wavelength. I often put everyone here on mute and read only your posts. It’s like a forum of us. I will just write a scathing thing about master and beanz even though I can’t read anything they write while on ignore but I just figure they are writing stupid stuff. I also don’t have Big D on ignore as he makes me feel good reminding me of my white privilege. It’s all like reading a book I wrote while on ecstasy

Oh snap Chinese are building a weapon to set you on fire from a half mile away

Chinese researchers are working on a new handheld laser weapon capable of burning skin and clothing from up to half a mile away, according to its developers.

Boasts about the high-powered laser rifle’s capabilities come amid a diplomatic row between the US and China over the use of blinding lasers on military aircraft.

    I think that’s from Reuters

Fu Xuedong a cyber-security specialist at a lab in Shenzhen who is currently on the run from the Chinese government and is referred to as the Chinese Ed Snowden reports a 5g chip made in China used in US cars has a backdoor that allows the Chinese government to hack the autos, track its movements, listen to drivers and utilize facial recognition. Of course the Chinese government denies it but it’s not that hard to believe. Damn that intense
