    Default Toney Vs Gunn

Toney is back April 7th against somebody called Bobby Gunn. The fight is at HW and Toney is back to sporting his pimp beard. He has called his opponent a gypsy pig. I view that as moderately negative on my racial barometer and so find it merely funny.

    Here's the press conference...

This will be another fighter that an english cruiser weight did better against than this old Toney The other being Damon Reed that Herbie Hide splattered in a round.

Probably, there is no way Toney is getting him out in a round. As long as he wins every round and busts his man up then I don't mind too much. Toney rarely stops people anymore.

I hope he doesn't come in fat. 215 would be alright by me, but you never know how much he has gone since the last fight.

Haha I remember Bobby Gun. He fought Enzo Maccerinelli a few years back and was supposed to some bare knuckle tough guy.

Enzo blasted him out in a round and had his face splitting blood if I remember.

Thomasz Adamek gave him a beatdown too.

I say Toney on disputed points win.

Wasn't Gunn some former wwf tag team wrestler? His brother (or him) got smashed in some "boxing" tournament they did and then by Buterbean

    As to Toney......

Toney needs to retire. I hope he gets his ass handed to him. I'm sure he still thinks that the Klitschkos are still ducking him.

Toney is old and like Roy he also needs to retire.

That was BART Gunn not Bobby Gunn my dear sir you are mistaken.

Yeah as others were sayin Bobby Gunn is/was The bare knuckle boxing champion of the world.

Toney for all intents and purposes looks to be shot, but he's probably still crafty enough to outpoint this character.

I think the odds on him chomping on a double bacon cheeseburger during the ringwalk would offer lower returns than Toney coming in fit and fighting.

Toney needs to stay busy this year and have 3 fights. This one, a top 10 and then a title shot. If Chisora can have that success with Vitali then Toney can do better.

I don't count Toney's last fight as he was clearly badly injured early on. He is better at HW anyway. He doesn't need to worry so much about speed and keeping up with smaller, faster opponents. He can take a shot from anyone and has the smarts if wobbled.

Hahah, really? Chisora isn't special but he is a solid young heavyweight who brings some nice physical tools to the ring, he isn't a bad fighter. Toney would have no chance against him or of doing better than he would against literally anyone at this point, let alone Vitali. To say otherwise is nuts really, James couldn't win a round against freaking Ledbedev.

I will not hear a bad word said about James Toney. He could beat Vitali Klitscho, Chisora and Haye at once whist simultaneously eating Burger King whoppers. He is that talented. Once you join the JFAT alliance you never leave.

It was obvious that Toney injured his knee in the second round of the Lebedev fight thus I don't count it as meaningful.

James Toney needs to make a point in this fight to make up for last time out, if not then he should retire. It really is getting late in the day and there are only so many times Toney can keep going back to the drawing board.

Mind you I have no doubt that Manny Steward urged the Klit brothers to stay away from Toney and it has been obvious in the way they have fought everyone except him. For instance why did Rahman get a shot after Toney/Rahman 2? They avoided Toney in his prime.

Toney will probably toy with him for a few rounds before knocking Gunn out.

Toney was too fat to contend against Peters in their rematch.
