    16 miles takes me 45 minutes house door to work door combination of cycle to station, train and walk.

    £800 a year for train pass.

    @Master that's a really good deal for a yearly train pass. If I bought a train pass here it would cost me about 150 British pounds per month. That would be something like 1800 pounds per year!

    Todayit took me 50 minutes to travel 1 mile, yes 1 mile! road works everywhere. But I need my car so cant walk as got kids school run to do on lunch break.

    Door to desk I've done in 42 minutes. 15 minute train ride and a walk on each end.

    Rail pass 1030 quid for year

    There are major interstate highways between where I live and where I work and there are no pedestrian walkways or even bicycle Lanes allowed on those major interstates. Plus going through the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan you cannot walk or ride bicycles
