    Default on freddie Roach

the show follow Roach around documentary style.

Pac vs Marquez III- I get the feeling that Roach really thought they lost the fight.

    Just my opinion.

I was only able to catch a small part of it, but enjoyed seeing some old footage of Roach in his boxing days.

I've been watching this Capt, it's a great "reality" boxing show. Roach suffers from Parkinson's pugilistica that began in his days as a pro boxer. I can remember him taking a battering in his last 4 years in the ring, losing 13 fights and being knocked out 3 times. Freddie is able to actively control the disease through medication, injections and his training of boxers. Roach's doctors feel that his active in-ring training routines with his fighters and tremendous hand-eye coordination that he has to exhibit has made it possible to slow the progress of the disease.

Under the circumstances, Roach functions remarkably well, he keeps on rockin' even with the disability, a real life hero in my book.

PS. I think it's hilarious how after Pacquiao, Roach is the most well known, revered, man in the Philippines, they idolize him there.

Like him or not but the guy is a damn boxing wizard, at his age, even Manny Stewart or Nacho Beristain didn't have trained yet as many World champions (they more or less trained all the same numbers of champions or close to) at his actual age.

If he continues like that, he might even beat his master someday, the great Eddie Futch.

    .
Most boxing fans don't know that most of what Freddie learned about boxing and/or training fighters, came from Eddie Futch.
According to what i've read, Roach's Parkinson's is fairly stable, meaning it isn't progressing the same way Ali's has. So who knows, the guy may be able to train fighters for another 10-15 years, it's obvious he loves doing it.

HE'S consumed by boxing With a bit of chance, they will find something to completely stop/cure Parkinson before he can't train fighters anymore.

How ironic is it that one way to reduce the affects of parkinson is to carry out some boxing training which helps hand eye co-ordination.
