No No and No. That the majority considered the Cotto fight a 50/50 proposition prior to the fight should say it all. he's shot but sadly he'll go the way of many a fighter and will not be able accept that time has passed him by.His style is built around athleticism, nobody ever got more athletic in old age, add in the surgeries, the murray performance, and all signs lead to shot and not an off night. Perhaps him and Sturm can fight now, and I don't think he wins that at this point.

Martinez wants another payday and to sully his legacy.

I'm all for a farewell fight or two against someone like Enrique Orneleas or Ossie Duran level guys.

And honestly if he needs or wants another big name ass whipping then let him have it. Martinez worked his whole life for the big money fights. He's earned it.

But it wasn't just an off night. It's over.

He's going to have to be convinced, most of us are like that about one thing or another. I hope his next fight is his last.

Bad, bad move. His legs were horrible against Cotto and they were his engine. Martinez is nearly 40 and had a great career. There is nothing more to prove. If it's to finish his HBO contract, then make it someone in the top 20 and leave it at that.

Sergio Martinez has earned the right to keep fighting and seeing for sure he is finished. I would like him to fight a B level champion to see what he has left. He probably is finished as a top fighter judging from his last 2 fights but he needs the beating to make sure. This is the boxing circle of life.

I think he'll have a big stadium/payday fight in Argentina against somebody he can beat and then go out on a win. He knows it's over.
