Delia Derbyshire has been a constant source of Inspiration for me as both a Producer and Sonic Artist. People bandy about the word genius a lot but she was more than a genius. She was gifted, blessed, innovative and consummate in the precision and emotionally refined technique she used to ply her trade. She smashed down walls. She created soundscapes internally that pre empted the arrival of synthesisers and then found real world analogue approximations that would allow her to share that world with us on the outside. I love her so much I feel kind of jealous and dirty sharing her art because she was the Dogs Bollocks. She took the Pens out of white coated sound engineers and shoved them up their bottoms. She had soul.R.I.P Delia and long may you walk through Blue veils and Golden Sands
