Meh.... two wrongs don't make a right. If Keith Olbermann is making racist comments on the air his ass should be fired too. Don't matter to me who it is who says racist shit on TV or Tweets about it. If you can't handle the responsibility that comes with being a celebrity and having a free audience of your every word, then you shouldn't be in that position. 'Bout time we started calling a spade a spade.
People in the public eye should be expected to comport themselves properly. How about that for a novel thought?
I do not think public figures should restrain themselves or be held to higher standards than anybody else. As long as you are not physically hurting someone or stealing their property, then it is usually much ado about nothing. Roseanne said a silly thing online, she has said sorry and that should be the end of it really. Why does that need to lead to an entire show and all those who work on it being out of work? I think it is silly.
It was the sleeping pills. It has that effect.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
When I read the Planet of the apes comment I thought that is an entirely accurate statement.
That said I hate Rosanne and the rest of the Connor clan. DJ was alright but I suspect that was only due to him being too young (when I last watched it) to become a full blown cunt like the rest of them. I think I hated Aunt 'Slut' Jackie the most followed very closely by miserable weird boy voice Darlene.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Jackie was Sheldon's mum and Darlene was basically Darlene wasn't she?

I agree with Master both are definitely a pain in the neck.
I also agree with Gandalf that public figure should not be held to any higher standard. I never like it when they make fun of a heavyweight champion boxer because he has a substance abuse problem or anything like that and they say things like oh oh all the little kids are looking up to him and he should know better blah blah blah blah. As if he has some kind of Superman or something he is just a human being like all of us.
It's never really a great idea to compare someone to an ape or monkey regardless of race or ethnicity. I don't understand the huge hubbub about it though....Valerie Jarrett is of mixed race her late father was extremely fair skinned for a black man and her mother is white.
Roseanne is controversial, she'll always be that way. Her show was that way, her comic career was that way, she's a provocateur and well in entertainment you're dealing with some very thin skinned bleeding hearts who can dish it out all day long but can't take it (who would have thought that former drama students would become so dramatic).
How do you say fair-skinned for a black man. I'm calling China right now
