I thought this fight was a joke immidiately but when I found out it was a title fight. Sykes is ranked 62nd in the world. This makes Clevs title fight against someone ranked 40th in the world look good. What about all the fighters at the top who actually deserve a shot at this title.
Every day we get more news that puts the boxing world to shame. Is there anyone who can turn this sport around. I think we should get Dana White in to sort everyone out.

Broner beat Perez who was ranked lower top 10 by Ring Magazine, espn, and other non sanctioning body rankings.

He follows that up by facing an absolute nobody.

It would be shitty and understandable if Broner was just the "average trinket holder". But Broner is on fucking HBO. HBO has only so many programs a year and they are giving away slots to this motherfucker. In addition, Broner is being hyped up as a future P4P guy (in a short time period). If you want to become a P4P player, you first have to start beating top 3-4 guys in your division!!!!!

After Broner lost to Ponce De Leon and was given a gift he has been matched pretty weak. He did good catching Litzau cold and jumping on him, otherwise his last 3 fights now countin this Sykes fellow are just total mismatches with guys who possess no power.

I made some money betting on Broner for the Ponce De Leon fight.

De Leon was moving up in weight.

I figured De Leon wouldn't have enough to KO Broner and the judges would give Broner all the close rounds.

Fortunately for me I was right. Unfortunately for boxing, I was right.

Sykes is a decent little fighter, but I have a feeling come fight night he's going to look two weights smaller and will get bullied.

sykes is very fit and tends to come on as the fight progresses

ok it is a massive step up from what he is used to but if he can get through 5 or 6 rounds than we might see somethjing of broner that we havent seen before

    Broner by early KO

Very disappointed by this match, Escobedo would have been better

I give Broner credit for the Litzau & Perez wins, Perez was very highly regarded

Gary sykes ?? This is a step down for Broner, disappointing match up. I will be surprised if it goes past 4 rounds.

Sykes starts slow so this could end badly for him.

Broner may as well be fighting Eric Sykes , more WBO quality matchups
After his second loss to gary buckland Sykes earned his shot by beating NO OTHER THAN DEAN MILLS 6-5-2
this is everything i hate about boxing , the WBO continues to be a belt not even worthy of holding up your jeans.

How is Sykes able to get this fight? Is he even ranked in the top 15 or can anybody fight for this trinket?

Whats wrong with Escobedo (who I thought was a poor choice when I first heard it mentioned, until I heard about Sykes), Burgos, Vasquez or Martinez?

I really can't believe this fight is happening
