    Default X3 fights a year?

I know this has been already discussed many times over..but AJ fighting x2 a year is not enough.

Hearn is now saying the April date won’t happen and it looks like June for the first fight of the year.

X3 fights a year for these champions should be mandatory.

AJ needs as much fights as possible.

    I agree.

I used to say the same about Wladimir Klitschko - he was fighting twice a year, there were a couple of years he fought only once.

A champ should do one big fight per year (mandatory or unification) and also fight two ranked contenders, for a total of 3 fights per year.

Most would agree but the champion should be allowed to fight an "easier" opponent if it was the case.

However they may not be paid the same amount so would prefer not to take the unnecessary risk.

Could AJ fill a stadium 3 times per year?

Not getting at Joshua as such, but why do Champions, WORLD CHAMPIONS NO LESS, take “Easier” fights? If you want to call yourself “Champion of the whole World,” then you have to keep defending that status.
There’s enough people in the World that want to take that title away from you.

If people want world champions to fight 3 times a year then I think it is fair for them to have non-title bouts.

Nah. if they want non title fights, give up the title! simples. I don't mind alternating between Voluntary or Mandatory, but they should always be for the title. What the fuck are these guys fighting for and indeed we are watching , if it's not for World Titles?
this is the modern day problem . it's all about money fights rather than titles.

Boxing is now run in a way that top PPV cash cows like Joshua must only fight twice a year.

It's a real shame that boxing has gone this way, but that's the way it is now.

I remember Tyson fighting 4x a year when he was champion in 1987 & by June '88, he'd already had 3 fights & was scheduled to face Bruno in September '88, but his life fell apart, so the bout didn't happen until later until February '89.

I know that was prior to the PPV era we're in now, but it was not as if it was 1,000,000 years ago, it was in the modern era of boxing & Tyson was a huge cash cow & they managed get him out there 4x year.

Joshua could easily fight 4x a year, but the business side of boxing does not want that these days.

    Nah.

Joshua should fight March/April, then July/August and then December.

No excuses..he is a multi millionaire and the top of the hill.

Whyte, Fat boy Miller and then Fury/Wilder.

Yeah fighters should definitely listen to nerdy fans, there's really no excuse for not making our lives less boring.

How the fuck can you expect a World champion in the prime of his career to have non title bouts?

Yes. Stupid statement that. Non title bouts ffs.

I think 5 fights over a two year period easier to maintain and schedule. Not too much to ask

On the plus side, JCC was a pretty busy fighter. On the minus side, he routinely retreated to the friendly confines of Mexican towns to fatten his record against inferior opposition in non-title fights.
