Michael Spinks- Alley Cat on Holmes!

My goodness. I rewatched both Holmes/Spinks fights and man, anyone who saw that fight HAD to have become a fan of Spinks. People remember him most by being ko's in a round by Mike Tyson, but he did not show anything of himself that fight.

Go to the video of All of Holmes losses. The first two are the first two Spinks' fights, obviously. Spinks was all over Larry like a madman. I don't think I have ever seen someone all over someone so consistently in a competitive fight.

I have never seen both fights in their entirety and do know many believd Holmes should have got the decision particularly the second contest.

Michael Spinks was a truly great light heavyweight champion up there with Archie Moore, Foster and Ezzard Charles.

Holmes believes that was one of the reasons he did not get the decision, that the establishment would not to equal and exceed Rocky's record because of the silly comment he made.

Holmes was beaten that first fight with Spinks. He could not have avoided it. Plus, it looks like he was in better shape when he beat Ray Mercer and when he lost an SD to Holyfield than he did against Spinks in both fights.

The only reason he lost to Holyfield and McCall was age.
