    Default Dean Powell RIP

No details yet but widely reported.

Boxing promoter and trainer Dean Powell dies | Boxing | Sport | Daily Express

Straight away I think of him trying to shoe horn some sensible words into Joe Calzaghe's ear whilst Enzo verbally combusts.

    RIP

    Rest in peace indeed!

I remember Enzo screaming at Joe "fucking" this and "fucking" that and saying something along the lines of "fucking kick his arse" and Dean pushes Enzo out the way and cal ly says "well lets tell him how shall we"

Great match maker too who helped with advice for many last minute additions to everything from arena to small hall cards. Multi talented guy, British boxing will miss him. RIP.

RIP dean Powell, smart boxing man who knew the game inside out. Was one of the real driving forces that brought success to the frank warren stable.

Even though I didn't personally know him I admired him. He's the bloke behind the scenes that really knows boxing. He seemed a proper good bloke.

I always liked him as he seemed very down to earth and cut through the hoopla and bullshit that surrounds boxing.

He was a significant figure in the British sport, and I understand very much respected. A sudden shocking loss...
