In the rocky films it shows sylvester stallone practising some fine boxing moves, but does anyone know of him actaully being a amtuer or training??

Sly could never box... maybe to the untrained eye that bobbing arm crossing thing he did looked like boxing but it was just his 'artistic' take on the way a boxer moved...

are you mad watch Rocky again..His record before he fought Apollo was 40wins with 20 losses....so when he stopped fighting he had around 50-55 wins with 22 losses.....

He sparred with carl weatherspoon but it was just them two, a choroegropher and the director... no boxing coach... Sly could throw a few punches but that was all... the foot work... head movement... guards... everything in it is wrong.

the bottom line is Sly never fought amateur or pro....and he always looked off balance..but he did as much for boxing as anyone...he brought it back...it was fading with Ali and here comes ROCKY!
