He's almost 60 and still can act like a boxer, so he must've been pretty good.

Sly could never box... maybe to the untrained eye that bobbing arm crossing thing he did looked like boxing but it was just his 'artistic' take on the way a boxer moved...

He never competed amateur or pro. So he was never really a boxer

Listen to Adam (which also happens to be my name btw)

And though he isn't really a good boxer, he does know his fair share about the sport and has done a lot of good for it.

Yea I heard Denzel Washington had to really learn to play Basketball in "he got game"'... Did you see how competitive his 1 on 1 match with Ray Allen was?? Why doesn't he just join the NBA...

He sparred with carl weatherspoon but it was just them two, a choroegropher and the director... no boxing coach... Sly could throw a few punches but that was all... the foot work... head movement... guards... everything in it is wrong.

the bottom line is Sly never fought amateur or pro....and he always looked off balance..but he did as much for boxing as anyone...he brought it back...it was fading with Ali and here comes ROCKY!
