I skidded out on a pair of rollerblades on concrete at full speed. I was turning sharply and hit some dirt. My leg and knee and elbow and hands were bloodied badly.

Who hasn't? Can you still practice your punching without practicing footwork? If so, maybe you can still train.

I went over the handlebars of my mountain bike while attempting to go down a steep hill ( I was about 50 at the time). I recovered to train again, so will you. It may just take some time.

no footwork = no punching... it comes from the floor up Vodka... its not just a case of swinging your arms...

I raced my bike in a BMX league and I used to do a lot of jumps in skateparks and dirt trails, so I have had my share of falls. Sprained my ankle, fingers, and wrist a couple of times, went face first into rails. Banged my knees real good on the headset and stem area, slipped the pedals... alot, thats painfull. Never broke anything though. So I guess that answers your question, I've been in the same situation. It does suck, but you get through it. You will be training again in no time.

I throw my punches and get the power from my shoulders. Is that like Baller27?

you can use your shoulders as much as you want but if your feet aren't right what it your body pushing against when you punch? just the bag

you try handing from a rope and hitting a pair of pads... tell me what happens
