Was it that long ago??.....I haven't given the guy any thought other than when I saw ALI ( the movie)...The auction thing was in the late 90's. There were some things he had written...I was trying to find anything about him on the net but came up with everything other than his death

He died in 1987. A musical is being created about the relationship between him, his son and Ali. The website will be up soon, check info [at] maxamgroup [.] org for more information.

I used to hang out with Drew at his club on 2nd ave in NYC, he was a funny dude and a lot of fun, I was shocked to hear he was dead, I was a guest of the state of NY from 85 to 89 so I missed his passing, all I can say is that whatever his faults he was a great personality
I mention him in my book "I Make No Apology by Gaspar Vetrano"
    Drew you are missed

Like has already been stated he died in 1987. His son is now a top pilot in the military and Ali did pay him. It was Bundini who created the *Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. His eyes can't hit what the man can't see" "Rumble young man Rumble* and he created a lot of Ali's poems

It's no coincidence and it says volumes about what Ali felt about him that out of all the hordes and hordes of people that came and went in Ali's Entourage over the years. The only two people who there at the start of Ali’s legacy (Liston) and the end (Holmes) were Angelo Dundee and Bundini Brown

The story was that Bundini approached Ali early on in his career in a hotel room. Ali took a liking to him and the fact that he was a part of SRR's entourage and hired him.

If you're interested in Ali or Bundini you should read "Shadow Box" by George Plimpton, which documented a lot of those Ali early years and has many Ali/Bundini stories.

Yes remember he was part of Ali's idol SRR entourage, and also hired him. They were a great double act. I read that Bundini was also going out with a white woman, but Ali still stood by him.
