Holmes could beat Liston with his jab alone. He moved and boxed well enough to stay away from Liston's power, and that's all he would have needed to do. I think he beats Liston in an easy decision.

I think Frazier and Holmes is a much more interesting matchup.

I disagree. To be blunt, Holmes had a habit of eating right handers, not left hooks.

I think you might be on to something with this one. Liston had real problems with great boxers. I think Holmes would frustrate him over 9-10 rds and then drop him when the fatigue set in.
It feels good to be back home.

    That's a good call.

Larry could normally control a fight with his jab, but with Frazier's bobbing & weaving, he may have found it difficult to hit the target cleanly.

Good lord Lyle! Holmes had a major chin.

JMO, but Holmes ate one of biggest bombs ever landed in a Heavyweight bout. He got flat out clocked by a monster right hand from Earnie Shavers. Not only did he get up, but he ended the round slinging leather. Went on to win a lopsided decision.

Dare I say it, but that shot may have even put the chin of chins, George Chuvalo, down for a 10 count.

Back to the question, Holmes would speed bag Liston. Liston thrived on the fear factor he had over opponents. Similar to what Tyson had going for him in his hey day. Once exposed he wasnt all that. Holmes would do the same thing to Liston that Ali did.
Not to mention the low blow the Cooney hit him with,Larry got up and just abused him

If larry can stay disciplined and not get drawn into a brawl he comes off the mat to win a UD...if not I think he loses a SD
