Steward does not suit! ODLH style.....
It would be a BIG mistake if ODLH got Steward not only that but as I said ODLH mainly needs someone to be in his corner to talk to and get good advice from.
IMO he didn't get Freddy for actual training he got him more as a 'look at me and give me pointers'

The thing I don't like about Steward working with such an established fighter at this point in Oscar's career is that he might try to get Oscar to do things way out of his comfort zone. The last thing you need Oscar doing is fighting completely out of his comfort because Floyd's so quick a lot of Oscar's fight will have to be instinctive. I don't know if I like the idea of Manny jumping in with a new fighter of Oscar's level at this point.
I love Manny with young fighters.
At this point in his career I think Oscar mainly needs a motivator in his corner and someone trying to find holes in Floyd's game. I believe Freddie will do an ace job at that playing off Oscar's strengths.

i see your logic because he is the best trainer in boxing today, imo

    but.......................

i dont think any trainer would impact this fight, because oscar could be trained by my 2 year old daughter at this point in his career. Hes seasoned enough to where he knows what he needs to do in rhe ring to win a fight more than ANYBODY in his corner thinks they know,

oscar is looking for a "big name" trainer to help sell the fight even more than its already gonna be sold

emmanuel is a very busy man these days..............

roger mayweather obviously isnt going anywhere...................

mayweayher sr. was oscars big ticket for irrevelant pre-fight hype/ $$$ revenue, but mayweather sr. priced himself out (win/win situation for floys sr. because if oscar wins then sr. can say that the reason he priced himself out was because he is a great trainer and he didnt want to train a guy that he knew could beat his son, and if odlh loses mayweather can say "if he had me in his corner, he would have won because im the only guy on the planet that can teach a fighter to beat my boy)

so oscar went with the 4th best trainer, roach (who is riding the big wave of pacquios natural abilities)

having said that, how good would pacquio be if emmanuel trained him for a couple years

    check your PM'S

And yeah Freddie will play to Oscar's strengths but won't fix any of his weaknesses...

And thats not what ODLH got him for.
ODLH just needs someone to chat with and hear pointers from.
He didn't hire Roach to fix anything.

This whole thing with Oscar and his trainer is just a big story about nothing.

Oscar has been fighting since he was a little kid. He's fought every type of opponent imaginable and been in a ton of big fights.
At this point, he knows what he wants to do, who his trainer is makes no difference.
