Default Who is the Best British Prospect

Interested to know your opinions on this one...

Who of the young British prospects have the best hope of going on to win a World Title, Who will do it first and possibly go on to be a Hall of Famer

    - Amir Khan
    - John O'Donnell
    - Kevin Mitchell
    - Akaash Bhatia
    - John Murray
    - Carl Johanneson

    Your call...IMO Khan

Close between kahn and murry i think, kahn might be looking the better boxer, but the limelight could cost him badly if he gets to carried away.

Personally, I'd have to go with Kevin Mitchell at the moment because while Amir Khan is coming on OK he is blatantly being mollycoddled by Warren as one of his main attractions. Mitchell is further along beating european and commonwealth contenders at the moment and is showing heaps of potential into developing into a star on the biggest stage.

Murray hasn't overly impressed recently, but I'm sure he'll become a good fighter.
A couple of other up and comers that I'm paying attention to is John Ibbotson (that KO on the undercard of the Hatton fight was devastating) and I've heard good things from a mate in Ireland about Scott Belshaw.

jamie moore is a good prospect who should be on the list really. he has already been in some tough fights and hasnt even hit the european scene yet. but i think he has the tools to win a version of the world title.

but i'm saying khan. hopefully FW wont fuck about for too long and khan could challenge for a title next year.

Johanneson isn't a prospect, his form makes him one of the top superfeathers in Europe, the division is too good for him to win a world title though, unfortunately.

Not sure about Murray. Sometimes think he's quality sometimes ordinary.

Never seen Bhatia fight, and Froch has given O'Donnell the kiss of death.

Mitchell and Khan will both get shots, eventually. Mitchell will be 60-0...Khan'll be 40-0.

John Murry seems good. Might appear a bit heavy on his feet and might think a bit too much but he knows how to put his punches together very well.

I suppose Nicky Cooke is well gone past the prospect stage.

Those are the two i really like though. Im not sold on Mitchell.

Amir Khan is great.. Real potential and marketability..Could pick up over sea's and attract other big time promoters and trainers.. I worry about him with frank warren though..

But technically the best british prospect in my opinion is andy lee..

In terms on natural Talents id pick Kevin Mittchell but i think he is sometimes to eager for the knockout and goes hunting and neglects his Jab which is one of the best i've ever seen.

Id love to settle down with a good old school coach somebody who he'll listen to and respect .

London coaches are just terrible the whole scene is run by wackos .

Lol..Nice one for the correction!! cc!

I knew he was irish..Lol guess i just assumed he was northern lol..
Still a hot prospect to follow though.. And rare to see prospects in the higher divisions picked up so early aswell.. I doubt there will ever be a shortage of good competition for the young lad..
And i also like the chances of his career being guided well under both the training and management of manny steward.. The chances of a bright future are great

Perhaps he mixed his terms and meant the British Isles....which includes Ireland. John Duddy however is from Northern Ireland and is in that transitional phase between prospect and contender, and is certainly worth a shout.
