    Default A low blow question...

Okay...as you all know, if a fighter receives a low blow he normally gets up to 5 minutes
to recover...,but what happens if the fighter still can't go on after the 5 minutes....?!?
    aoes the opponent win
    b:Is it a no contest
    c:does the opponent loose
    ...or what...

There are alot of ifs in a b or c...so its probably something else...

    Some help please...
    ...

    Sh*t! where to start....

It all depends on a couple of things but 1 thing is certain in all the referee has the final word and the final verdict rests on him.
For example if the fighter who committed the foul had been warned already and was deducted a point and this happend where the fighter could not continue more then likely hes getting DQ'd

Now if it's the 1st foul committed but the fighter can't continue it will be up the ref. to determine what to rule the fight. Don't quote me on this but in this case the fight is ruled No Contest.

Let me try and think here give me a minute.....

Thanx for the thoughts so far... the Bowe Golota fight isn't what I meant... just one lowblow...
could even be an accidental one...just needs to be really devastating

If thats the case then the ref. has to determine if the foul was accidental or done on purpose if the ref. determines it was accidental then it's gonna be ruled a No Contest BUT if the ref. determines that it was done on purpose then he will DQ the fighter committing the foul and announce the other fighter the winner.

But then if a boxer is loosing a fight and gets lowblowed(sounds nasty )he could do some
acting and would get away with a no contest or even win by DQ...doesn't sound fair...

Theres one case that sticks in my mind .Colin Jones boxing in Wales home town was pissing the fight. Hit the guy borderline the guy went down and straight away the Welsh ref disqualfied him talk about playing fair, it was taking the piss

The ref. is not there to judge whos wining or loosing, hes there to make sure nothing illegal happens and keep the fight moving along....
It doesn't sound fair but thats the way it is.
The guy acting would have to pray & hope the ref. thinks it was intentional so that he could credit him with a DQ win....
If the ref. thinks it was an accident then he will rule it a NC.

After the 7th round I think it goes to the cards, before that its a no contest. I think the round depends on how many total rounds the fight is.
