Wicked list.. But i'd have to disagree with a couple..

I think david ried made the best of a bad situation frankly after having problems with his eyelid.. he had his payday against tito a couple mre wins and then went and enjoyed his money - fair play

Fernando vargas.. I dunno about that choice.. Fernando is and was greatly skilled, and always has the claim that he only ever lost to great great fighters... I cant have seen his career any other way..
I had him up when he was stopped in the first mosely fight.. And the other three losses are against undoubted legends of boxing.. if only he could have.. or may still pick some big names that suit his style to pad his record and his legacy

I think judah still has a chance to make it big... I mean.. its not all wasted away.. He can still make welter.. He gave the best pound for pound a great showing.. his career has been riddled with suspension and ye that is unacceptable from a professional.. But he keeps getting and lets give him props for always taking these big fights.. hes got this fridays tune up.. then cotto.. and a fair shot to beat cotto.. personally i love an underdog and im a clauset judah fan so im backing zab

    My input....

Duran..Used to blow up inbetween fights and many beleive this affected his career and cut it short..
Plus he had a lack of range in what he did to make his weight.. he mostly just sparred to make weight due to the fact he just loved to fight and he made weight doing what he loved to do

Toney much the same has gotten lazy.. weight and diet has been his issue.. sometimes will only sparr to train for a fight and basically has gotten through the last ten years or so as a proffessional on pure skill alone.. Had he been a puncher he would have been finished long ago

    Peace

Can I ask how is that you determine these 2 fighters wasted thier talents?

1st and foremost Sal Sanchez passed away in a tragic car accident.
Exactly how does he become wasted talent?
To me when someone asks wasted talent it's someone who had it all BUT MADE THE CHOICE to throw it all away.
I don't think Sanchez had much of a choice....

    Heres my list of wasted talent;
    Johnny Tapia
    Michael Grant
    Panchito Bojado
    Mike Tyson
    Jose Luis Lopez
    Jorge Paez
    Audley Harrison
    Irene Pacheco

Because Mick Sanchez could of achieved much much more but he died so suddenly when he was young and just starting to become great that imo is wasted talent.

You see it different to me i don't see wasted talent in one way like they threw it away i also see it like they were rushed into fight and could of been much better talent had they had more experience aka Vargas+Reid that is also wasted talent.

And to answer your question about Taylor in way he is wasted talent because imo he could of been great now he is just remembered for controversial loss to Chavez he had amazing speed he had it all imo and he done stupid tactic and he payed the price no matter if you think he won or lost his talent got wasted in that one fight.

Honstly..In my eyes... I dont think i would rather Johnny tapia did it any other way..It wouldnt suit

I would have liked or like him to have a bigger legacy..More widespread appreiciation

But in all fairness ..With how his life was is and will probably end.. His crazy life..
Its fair to say he is more of an overachiever then an underachiever..
He did great things..Made great things of his life.. They may never have been supposed to happen

Good list ICB but honestly, all of those fighters accomplished a lot. I mean, maybe they didn't become superstars like we all expected them to but almost all were world title holders. When I look at guys as wastes of talent, guys who never made it to the next level come to mind. Guys like Panchito, and Grant, Guinn and Harrison spring to mind. All are about everything you want in a fighter, ESPECIALLY HARRISON, but never made it and seemed not to have the desire to win.

Maybe I'll make a list a little later, I agree that most of those guys never fulfilled their potnetial but I wouldn't call them waste of talent. Especially Meldrick Taylor who was absolutely BROKE by Chavez. I can't hold that type of punishment against a guy.

    Camacho could have been greater
    Nunn could have been great
