Default how DO YOU hang a heavy bag

hey whats up guys... i have a question i do not have a basement or a garage and i was thinking about getting a heavy bag......i was about to buy one of those stands like this one..

    http://www.fitbuy.com/images/cn15162h.jpg

but it leaves you no where to move it looks like you are basically confined to one spot....

however i have an area in my back yard that would be perfect to hang a bag. There is a big treee that i can build something off of.....im not sure there are any thick branches suitable for hanging a bag from but i was wondering, is there any way of nailing a peice of wood off of the tree so it would hang into my yard that i can hang the bag from..... im not sure how heavy the bag will be but im sure i dont want a real light one

please any info would be greatly appreciated thank you

And yes,if you pay attention to your footwork, and place it right, you can get your work in
I know everlast has better ones, but I cant afford 3 grand for a heavy bag stand

I have one that I hang in my garage. I bought a hanger from Ringside which is a flat piect of metal with a D-ring in the middle. I anchored a 4x4 across the beams in the garage and mounted the hanger to the 4x4. I also bought a big spring from Ringside and got a length of heavy chain from the hardware store. I've been using this for around 10 years and have never had a problem. The 4x4 takes a lot of the stress off the rafters and doesn't make the whole house shake when I'm hitting the bag. Hope this helps.

Not sure you could use it with a tree unless you had two very sturdy branches that were the same height and parallel to the ground. Then maybe you could attach a 4x4 across the tree limbs and hang the heavy bag from it.

    hey Holla....

Did you ever see the newest Rocky? (what's that, Rocky 27?)

Anyway, he has a pull-up bar in his backyard. You could always fashion something out of 1" black iron pipe.

In hindsight made this mistake Christmas with almost exact stand. Bit of shopping around would have helped but oh well. As much as I hated to made some cuts on weighted legs and t-boned the center section outward with bracers....keeps balance with swinging bag providing your not going Clubber-lang on it and also allows circling free and clear...for the most part.

wow, realized I was on 3 yr old thread lol. TM sighting
