Hes coming along nicely, alot of refinements needed, because the guy who was training him before me,had never boxed, and was going stricly by Haislets book
But hes got his amateur certs done,he was going to fight in that charity thing a few weeks back, but the Commisioner ruled that anyone who fought in it would no longer be eligible for Amateur status

    Congrats Hitman

I think the system in Oz might be slightly different again - we have juniors, novice, intermediate and open. Everyone who is over 18 is classified as an adult and will be novice, intermediate or open based on the number of bouts they've had. We occasionally have a really big, scary Junior who will fight adults though as well. We have one heavyweight 16 YO guy who fights adults here and sometimes wins by KO - I feel like such a midget old woman standing next to him

Bummer Feuer is still having problems getting a match. I know it's difficult logistically and maybe expensive but have you thought of fighting overseas? Might be one of those things that doesn't pay enough to cover all your transport costs but at least gets you into the scene. Could have a family holiday at the same time maybe

Thanks Sharla...Have'nt seen u about much lately Well u can fight to as an advanced level as u feel capable here but seniors is regarded as the division for prospective olympians or pro's and 21 ia usually the age to enter but i'm in a hurry

Monkey mayb if ya concentrate on publicity a bit it might help. Get a regional journalist n photographer down to the gym or Sumpn?

I've been checking the board a bit here and there but have been thinking I need to cut down on some of my waffle We don't really have enough boxers in SA to be very elitist with out senior open fighters - I'm even classified as an open fighter which is a bit of a joke! - I'd love to travel and see what it's like in countries where it's bigger though. Maybe I'll see some of the other board members fight one day

Good idea about the publicity CC Hitmandonny- I have seen it work for a few female boxers here in the early stages of their career - we have the novelty factor on our side - if you have to deal with having few opponents etc you might aswell capitalize on that.

Well it's strange also that over here there's a group of about ten fighters being favoured for the "high performance programme." Which basically entails the government funding the training of a number of fighters specialised training. it's very unfair and im proud to say i turned it down Thats why ieland is developing so few top notch fighters

I think I'd be jealous of other people getting special training but at the same time maybe if you get chosen you've earnt it? Why turn it down?
