Default Witter v Harris in UK!

    WITTER-HARRIS SEPTEMBER 7 IN UK!
    By G. Leon

Boxingtalk has been informed that WBC junior welterweight champion Junior Witter will make the mandatory defense of his title against former WBA 140 pound champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris. Harris promoter Gary Shaw stated he had "no idea" if the fight would be televised in the United States. (2:25PM EST)

I thought that this was already confirmed for the UK

I dont rate Harris at all but its a name to keep witter active and profile high

I wouldnt like him to fight Hatton though, I think they are each others worse nightmare and would ruin any possible fights for each other after

Idealy id like to see Witter fight Cotto and Hatton fight mayweather, that way as brits wed get to see 2 fbig fights involving our boys that we could get behind

I think Harris is a very credible opponent for Witter. Not that long ago (at least before Vivian got beat by Mausssa - by basically being a mong) he was touted as genuine 140lb talent.

I always find it hard to call Witter fights cos he can unleash a bomb from about ankle height in any given round............okay, I'll go for a Witter stoppage, honestly couldn't say when, probably early cos Vivians ego exceeds his talent and he'll get drawn into a rumble.

First 4 rounds and Harris will be in it no doubt and the more he put's it on Junior the better it is for us because Junior will rise up and actually start to fight.
Witter needs to look good here for his own sake (and to get some fans) so he might actually turn up and go for the KO as he looked great last time out and finished well.
He's got the tools Junior but frustrates the F*ck out of me (maybe i'm still p*ssed off at him for the Corley fight) most of the time.
I think Junior may shine here

Witter needs to make a real statement here if he wants to make a dent with the top guys. I believe he's talented enough to hang with the likes of Hatton and Malginaggi, and he'd humiliate someone like Torres, but he just hasn't got any fans behind him to kick up a fuss and get the bigger names interested.

This fight went quiet going to purse bids and all that I thought it might be scrapped.Harris had that blip and his last fight made it look like just that as he continued on from where he was prior to the Maussa incident ! He's a creditable opponent for Witter and it's definately a fight he could win if the Witter that fought against Kotelinik or Lynes shows up.

I think this would be an interesting matchup. Witter doesn't have the power to stop Harris but his speed and southpaw stance could frustrate Harris. Still Harris has a puncher's chance as he showed against another southpaw in Stevie Johnston.

Think Witter defintely has the power to stop him. And there's more chance of Witter sparking him than outboxing him.

If Maussa can stop him I think Witter definately has a chance.
