Was Winky robbed in the Vargas fight?

I never saw this fight. At the time nither of them was of any big significance. But I just wonder. Was Winky really robbed or was Vargas that good at the time.

I just can't figure out how does Vargas have a win over Wright.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally...I say that Winky won the fight.

HBO was really REALLY pushing Vargas at the time & it was a close fight. Wright fought a bit differently then as he does now...he was more in your face than he has been in his last two or three fights & he surely didn't fight like he did against Mosley.

Wright won, IWO, but it was a close one.

If anything...shoulda been a draw.

It was a very very close fight...IMO it was a draw but.....If Winky got the dec we could be having the topic on this with Vargas name instead

Sometime I wonder what would've happend if Winky had won that fight. At that time would he beat Trinidad? Would he have fought Hopkins before? Would Vargas be known?

I guess in the end none of this matters....

When I first saw it,I had WInky winning but I don't think it was a robbery. Vargas did really well to bring Winky's arms down,by banging to the body. I really enjoyed the fight.

I scored the fight a draw. I thought Winky built up a 6-3 lead, but he let Vargas outwork him the last 3 rounds.

Lot of credit goes to Vargas, he was young but found the will to outfight Winky in the championship rounds.

I had Winky winning it too. Strange but Winky jumped on Vargas, was agressive in that fight, not his norm at all.
