Default The Hilarious Part Of B-hops career

Its a series of "he cant" "he wont"
And when he does, some fans still try a way to downplay it

He wont agree to the unification bouts
    He did
He wont be able to beat Trinidad
    He did
He wont be able to set the record for defenses
    He did
He wont be able to handle Tarver's power at a higher weight
    He did
He wont be able to outbox to get past Winky's defense
    He did
    After he does it
    "Yeah but...."

Lord knows I wish he would
Its just so funny that for example, the Trinidad fight. At the time nobody gave Bernard a holy hope in hell
    Now
Oh he was just a puffed up WW
Then, there was no shot of him being able to survive Tarvers power
    Now
Oh Tarver wasnt any good(lord knows 2 time chanps ALLWAYS suck)
The revisionism that happens with B-hop is utterly amazing

I thought that the hilarious part of B-hops career was his second fight with Antwun Echols.

he didn't really get past Winky's defense. Winky stopped most of his shots from landing.

I agree that his career accomplishments are at a place that not much else can be proven. But people need to understand that fighters--fight. That's what lives inside of a fighter. And as long as a guy has not declined to the point that he's in physical danger then it's on them to do what they want to do.

I do understand that alot of fans would like to see some of these great fighters go out while they still have some gas in the tank. But at the end of the day, these guys put their pants on 1 leg at a time just like everyone else. They're regular guys that happen to fight for a living. And they're just living their life how they want to.

How I would personally describe Bernard Hopkins place in boxing today, if he was still thuggin, he'd be an OG. if he was in the mafia, he'd be the Godfather. If he was royal, he'd be the King. If he was a politician, he'd be the president. He's the oldest, AND he's the wisest, and he's quite possibly the greatest.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Agreed. It's hard to watch a great fighter stay in for too long & get punished in fights.

Hopkins now and Ali v Holmes are 2 different situations. Hopkins has aged much better, and he hasnt had the all out wars and punishment that Ali had.
Also Ali had just come off a loss and a close 15 rounder with Leon Spinks when he fought Holmes, and was way past his prime. Hopkins has beaten two top guys in his last two fights, and u could say is not that far off his prime form at the moment. Dont think there is a guy out there below HW who could abuse Hopkins like Holmes did to Ali, even if BHOP fought til he is 45.

Yeah, Hopkins is still performing at a very high level.
