DENNIS ANDRIES determination ove ability

Its amazing that Dennis Andries ever became a world champion, the fact he did it 3 times defies belief. when he first won the WBC light heavy title he couldnt box, had no footwork and threw clumsy punches. He got battered by Thomasd Hearns and lost his title even though he did knock hearns down, but the ref never gave him a count. after getting a kicking by hearns he relocated to detroit and re won the title then had 3 epic and bruising bouts with Jeff Harding. The last bout between them was the most brutal.

Yes when he lost to Hearns ,Dennis went over to the Kronk gym.
Manny Steward was asked why he had taken Dennis under his wing , as to quote "you can't teach an old dog new tricks "
Manny replied " true , but this old dog doesnt know any tricks YET !!!!!!!!"
Which sums up the job Kronk did for Dennis.
10 out of 10 for effort everytime.

I always think of Andries as a Carl Thompson type.

Can still remember being amazed at him keep getting up after the 10,000 knockdowns against Hearns.
