Yes indeed. At 168 Jones was the perfect fighter. Unbeatable by anybody. But he still beats Hagler at 160.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn

Really do not know how people can say Roy would have beaten Hagler at middlewight. Roy was a progress in work and Hagler was the finished article at the weight. Would Roy at middlewight beaten Mugabi ? maybe but do not believe he would have beaten Hearns and certainly not Hagler. He would have made it a brutal slugfest as that was his best chance and I do not think Roy would win as he would become negative and disillusioned with his bombs bouncing off Haglers head. I even think that Roy would not have fought him and would have moved up to super middleweight had they been in the same era.

both phenomenal fighters at their peak
but i think jones would take it on a 15 round decision
Never seen anyone as amazing as Roy Jones Jr at his best.. at his best Jones beats anyone in history at Middleweight
Roy would set it up and he would close the show . Roy possessed amazing raw talent and cat reflexes.. one hell of a punch he carried with him at 160 . Jones had more determination factor at this point in his career, more confidence in himself
Roy was not as good at Middleweight as he was at Supermiddle. He was not overly impressive against Hopkins which was his biggest win at the weight. Are you telling me the best Hagler could not have beaten that fighter. I believe he would have made Roy dig deep and beaten him.

Your forgetting Jones broke his hand in Hopkins fight.Originally Posted by Master
Then Hagler would break Roy's head in their fight.
